If you’re looking for a great fantasy, you’ll love “The Magic Thief: Found”. Sarah Prineas uses magic in ways you’ve never seen. Her vivid descriptions make the story come alive. Only an expert could have made characters and settings as realistic as she did. After reading “The Magic Thief: Found,” you’ll agree it is a masterpiece to behold. The book starts off with Conn and Nevery meeting in the Twilight to discuss the oncoming threat of the predator magic Arhionvar. Arhionvar wishes to destroy the Wellmet magic in order to become stronger. They know how to fight Arhionvar; the only problem is Conn needs a new locus stone to do so because his old one was destroyed in a previous incident. After searching through many grimoires, Conn finally found a finding spell to assist him in the search for his locus stone. When the correct preparations were made, Conn performed the spell (using pyrotechnics) and his journey began. About half-way there, the oddest of things occurred: a mysterious dragon picked him up and carried him the rest of the way. Conn was dropped off in a cave with thousands of locus stones, but eventually he found his stone and headed back home on the dragon. When Conn returned, Arhionvar had just about arrived, and the battle for the Wellmet magic had begun. Personally, my favorite part of the story was when Conn’s journey for a new locus magicalicus led him to a dragon’s lair. And, as an added bonus, there were thousands upon thousands of locus magicalicuses stockpiled there too. After three days of searching, Conn finally found his stone, just as he was about to pick it up, a young dragon, later named Pip, swallowed it whole. So unless Conn wanted to cut Pip wide open, he wasn’t going to get his stone back. Other than his encounter with dragons, this event was significant because the mystery of where magic originated was finally revealed. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves magic, wizards, and any other things with fantasy relation. But instead of wands, there is something even better: LOCUS STONES! Sarah Prineas puts a spin a magic you are sure to love.

Heaven is for real is a great book. Colton Burpo made it through a raptured appendix and went to heaven for a couple minutes and came back to earth. He was only three and saw Jesus and his pop, who died before he was alive. He tells his dad, a pastor, about his trip but not right away. He gives interviews and still remembers his trip. Colton Burpo made it past an emergency and was about to permenetly go to heaven. He was at heaven and told he had the best time. Not even four yet, he told his parents he saw his sister and his pop when he was 20. He was amazing when, out of the blue, he told people things nobody was there to see. They kept asking questions and he kept giving them answers. My favorite part in the book would have to be that knowing there is a place to go after you die. This is probably as much proof scientists and religious people will get. I also love when he gives away his trip to his dad. He went to the hospital and they thought that was it. He was only three so if he was taught, it wouldn’t be the same wording he used. I recommend this book if you are religious. This book will change your whole view on heaven. People think it is scary to die but to me it is just changing into a good person to go to heaven.

My book is called The Magic Thief by Sarah Prineas. This is a magical and interesting fiction book. You will encounter a wizard named Nevery and a young boy named Conn. It takes place in the town of Wellmet and they need to uncover a big mystery. It certainly is a world of magic.

This book is about a young thief named Conn who steals a magic stone from a wizard named Nevery. When Conn does this he thinks he is Nevery’s apprentice, but he really is his servant. The only way he becomes his apprentice is if he gets permission from the Magisters. But that was only the beginning. Conn had to be educated and well, ready for magic. There was a decay of magic in the town of Wellmet. To test Conn’s skills, Nevery sent him to the Magisters meeting. Conn was disguised as a cat and when he snuck in he found out that they wanted Nevery to solve the mystery. Also Conn had thirty days to find his magic stone to officially become a wizard. He had finally found a beautiful necklace on a lady and wanted to get it. So when he grabbed it in the women’s bedroom he instantly flashed out and he had found his stone. And that was the moment the real adventure was going to begin. So this book is filled with crazy adventures about a young, homeless boy and his quest to find out the mystery of the decay of magic in Wellmnet.

The most exciting and favorite part of the book is the Embero Spell. Nvery had done it on Conn and turned him into a cat. Nevery did this because he wanted to know what the Magisters were discussing. Conn would go to the meeting and get all the information he could. Then Nevery knew what to do when he received the information.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fantasy and mystery. It is so thrilling and exciting you just want to keep reading more. Are you brave enough to solve the magic mystery?

My book is called "The Last Clue." The author is Chris Archer. The genre of my book is science fiction. The characters are Peter Van Gelder, George, Derrick, Shannon, Renee, Paul, and Roulain. They are all trying to solve a big mystery in the story. In the story, Roulain makes up a name to disguise himself and his name is "Leroy" and he was kidnapping a girl named Kira which happens to be Peter Van Gelder's girl of his dreams. What they did was they had to find the diamond in order to save Kira. It was hidden by a guy named Captain Kidd. So George, Derrick, Shannon, Renee, and Peter Van Gelder spent hours and hours looking for it. It required a lot of digging as well. Then Derrick got frustrated when he couldn't find the diamond and he pounded the wall. When he did that Renee could here a noise and it was the diamond. So Peter Van Gelder punched a hole in the wall and they got the diamond. My favorite part of this book was when they were able to get the diamond. I felt so proud of them for doing that. When I read the book, I thought they would never be able to find it. It took a lot of persevereance and hard work and the whole group did just that. If you like science fiction books then you are going to love "The Last Clue." I recommend this book to another person because it has a lot of action in it. Trust me... You will love this book!!!

My book was Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie by Jordan Sonnenblick. This is a realistic fiction story told in 1st person. It is about a boy named Steven who is 13 years old told by himself about probably one of the most hectic parts of his life. This was when his brother around 5 years old gets cancer. He tells about how this affected him and his family. In this book Steven the main character is shocked when he finds out his brother Jeffery has cancer. This totally turns over his world for both him, Jeff, and his parents. They have to get used to a new schedule with Jeffery constantly going to the hospital and Steven having to look out for himself as his dad makes a gigantic attempt to make the money to support the bills. Once word gets out at school in comes the attention and a lot of it. Steven’s crush finally notices him and so do the other popular people who have never noticed him. But he also drops doing homework which gets back at him later. Then a big surprise is called as the family is falling in bills. The rest you will have to read to find out. Apart from that my favorite part in this book was when Steven falls in love with his best friend Anne. I enjoy love stories and this was a very nice touch that Sonnenblick added. Right between a hectic moment Steven realizes how great Anne was and once back to school makes it happen. But this just alone was not it of the exciting parts because he adds many interesting plot points as well as things we can connect with seeing that we will turn 13 through the course of the year. Over all I definitely recommend this to anyone in need of a fiction book. This book is interesting to read as with all the turns the book takes as you travel through the story. It also think it never gets to a boring part you always are on your toes wanting to read the next chapter.

My book is called Divergent by Veronica Roth. The genre of this book is science- fiction. This book is an exciting book that has a lot of action. This book also interests you in so many things because it has a lot of conflicts. It is an exhilarating book and you would love it. If you also like the Hunger Games series, you would love this book.

In this book, teenagers have to take a test to decide which faction they belong in. By their test results they can determine which faction they belong in, but that is the teenagers decision. Then each of them go to the choosing ceremony and they get to choose which faction they would like to be in. Well the main character Beatrice has a difficult decision but she chooses a dangerous faction. Beatrice has a narrow face, wide, round eyes, and a long, thin nose, and she is sixteen. When Beatrice takes her test, her test results come to be unexpected. When she chooses this dangerous faction she has to go where it is located by train. Although, they have to get on the train in a scary way, and they have to go on a roof and back down on the ground again. Then they arrive to s place called The Pit. It is pretty much a training center where they have to go through 3 initiations to see if they can become a member in that faction and those 3 things are combat, simulation stage, and the fear landscape. She does meet a lot of new friends also. In the combat stage, she has to do many things she has never done before. When she fights and the other things in the combat stage, some of it is painful but sometimes she is successful. In the simulation stage, everything id fake but she can feel the pain that is going on, so even though it is fake, she thinks it is real. In the fear landscape, she has to be tested on what her fears are and it is painful to her and other people because of her fears. So her friends are nice, but some are not and the stage she is in right now is dangerous. So she has to do well in the initiation, or she will become factionless.

My favorite part of the book was when they had to do a paintball match and they hid on the carousel. It was so crazy because you didn’t know what was going to happen to Beatrice and Four. Four also did many things to save Beatrice at that moment and Beatrice did the same to Four. They both had good plans to try to win the paintball match. Something good happened there as well but you have to read and find out.

I recommend Divergent to anyone who likes The Hunger Games. This book is so thrilling and exciting, you’ll be on the edge of your seat the entire time you are reading it. There are so many surprises in this book. Also like The Hunger Games, there is a lot of action in this book. It is an interesting book and I think you will love it if you read it.

Big Nate In Class By Himself by Lincoln Peirce (a realistic fiction novel). I chose this book because I had started reading it before but never got to finish it. This book is about a kid named Nate that receives a fortune (in a fortune cookie) that he will surpass all others. He decides to make this the goal of his day to surpass all others in some sort of way. Throughout the novel Nate tries to involve his friends in trying to make his fortune come true.

In the beginning of the book, Nate forgets his lunch so his friend Teddy gives him a fortune cookie. (His family had Chinese food for dinner last night.) Once he opens the cookie his fortune states, “Today you will surpass all others.” Throughout the book he comes up with plenty of ideas to “surpass all others” (First of all, Teddy is Nate’s 2nd best friend. His 1st best friend is Francis, because Nate has known him longer. ) His friends also help him with all his devious plans. For example, Nate’s first plan to surpass all others was to get his dream girl. This girl, (Jenny) already had a boyfriend, so his plan was to make her break up with him. Nate ended up just getting embarassed more than surpassing others. All his other plans are very interesting, but cleaver. (Most of them involve getting caught) To see for yourself you’ll have to read Big Nate In Class By Himself By Lincoln Peirce.

My favorite part of the book is when Nate is gym class. This is when Nate Is late for class when the class has a substitute teacher. When Nate goes into the locker rooms to change, he gets a drink. When he does, some water spills on his shorts. (His gym shorts) He quickly panicked and searched the whole locker rooms for a new pair of gym shorts. He soon found someone’s gym bag with a pair of gym shorts. When he put them on, he realizes they are a size XXXL. He stuffs a bunch of towels in his shorts so they would fit. When he walks out, he looks like a total fat kid. (He would’ve looked better in his wet gym shorts) When the substitute teacher saw, Nate realized that the shorts were the gym teachers. The teacher got really mad and gave Nate ,yet another, detention slip.

I would recommend this book because it is a funny interesting story of how Nate will surpass all others. Throughout this story, Nate gets his friends caught up in such a big mess. Nate is just an average student, that has a quite interesting life.

Divergent by Veronica Roth is an amazing book! It is an exciting science fictional novel. Beatrice Prior, A.K.A. “Tris” Prior is a girl from the Abnegation faction who, on choosing day, leaves her family for the Dauntless faction. She meets a man named Four who is one of the initiation leaders, and they become very close. This book is filled to the brim with action, adventure, and secrets. To read this book, you really need to be able to pay attention to details because many things come back up in the end. I think that the ending is a mix between a sad ending that could make you tear up, and an exciting tragedy that you really can’t have seen coming. Four and Tris go on many exciting adventures. After all, the Dauntless compound is full of danger. Tris is in danger for many, many parts in this novel, but I think that that adds to the suspense and excitement of the book. My favorite part is when Tris and Four are playing an intense game of “Capture the Flag” with the other initiates or other kids who transferred to Dauntless. They go to Navy Pier and end up climbing up a Ferris Wheel to get a better view of the pier to see if they can spot the other team’s flag. Four is afraid of heights, so it makes it that much harder. They can see the entire compound from up there. The hardest part of this game is trying not to get shot with a paintball. On the way down, when they’ve spotted the flag, they slip and almost fall. Not to ruin things but, Tris has to hang on to a Ferris Wheel cart and ride down all while hanging on, not sitting. The book has a bit of a sad and very suspenseful ending, but to tell about it would ruin most of the book. There are many important parts to this book. First, her brother, Caleb, chooses a different faction than Abnegation or Dauntless, so only their parents are still together. Next, on visiting day, Tris’ mother comes to the Dauntless compound to see Tris. She isn’t able to go see Caleb because his faction doesn’t like Abnegations and wont let them even near their Headquarters. Also, Four, in the fear scape, loses control of himself, even though Tris is right by his side. He seems like another person to me. Not his normal self. I recommend this book to anyone who liked the Hunger Games series. Like the Games, Divergent is action packed and full of suspense. It is a fight to survive life. Also they are similar in the way that they are supposed to be like in the future or the future America. I know this because the “Hub” Is the Willis tower in Chicago. Plus she uses other American places like Navy Pier. Please give this book a try! I think everyone in Mrs. Hallihan’s class would love this!
Sophia

My book is The 39 Clues: The Maze of Bones by Rick Riordan. It is a fantastic book and is fiction. You should read this book because there is no telling what is going to happen next. Every chapter in this book is very interesting and you would not want to miss out. I hope you choose to read this book some time and tell other people about it too.
In the beginning of the book, Amy and Dan had to go to their grandmother's funeral and while they were there, they met relatives that they didn't even know they had. When Grace's lawyer, William McIntyre, told everyone to look inside their programs, Amy and Dan found a gold invitation card. This card meant that they got to go to the last will and testament of Grace. As Dan passed through the main entrance of the mansion, he spotted a stone crest with designs of a dragon, a bear, a wolf, and two snakes entwined around a sword. Dan and Amy had the choice to either take two million dollars and walk away from the mansion or take a challenge of 39 clues to become the most powerful human beings on Earth;of course they chose to take the challenge and let the two million dollars be burned to nothing, but ash. They only got to start with one clue, but as they searched around the world, they found new clues. During their dangerous travels, they had to escape many obstacles and battle many of their relatives that were always trying to kill them. Throughout this whole book, Dan and Amy were only trying to find one clue.
There were many parts in this book that I liked, but my favorite part was when Dan and Amy went down into the Catacombs. The Catacombs was where they put all of the old skeletons. While they were down there, they saw many interesting things, like a pile of sixteen skulls with Roman numerals on each one of their foreheads. These skulls led them to there second clue which will be in the second book. While they were in the Catacombs, they got trapped and almost died.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes mysteries or fiction books. The 39 Clues: The Maze of Bones is a really great book and you should consider reading it. I hope you will read this book and the whole series and tell many people about it.

The book I chose for my report was “Mocking Jay”, by Suzanne Collins. This fictional book takes place in a futuristic world known as Panem. This first-person told story is about a girl named Katniss Everdeen. You will root for good to beat evil in this fast paced story. Her life takes a sudden twist in this third and final book of the trilogy. Learn more in my review of the third book of the series.
The plot of “Mocking Jay” may have you baffled at times. The book starts off with Katniss, the main character and heroine, returning to her home district after complete devastation. Katniss is shocked that her young love, Peeta, is being held prisoner at the Capitol. The Capitol is the main area where leaders control all the other districts. Peeta is a kind and caring person but does not have the fighting spirit of Katniss. The setting changes to District 13, an unknown district, that is important to the uprising of the rebels to overthrow the Capitol. District 13 is preparing to invade the Capitol, and groups are formed to fight for freedom. Katniss is involved in a “Dream Team” group. It includes; Finnick, a former District 4 Hunger Games victor who throws a mean trident, Gale, Katniss’s best friend from District 12, and several other rebel fighters. The climax of the story is the invasion of the Capitol. To find out more, read the book!
My favorite part of the book is when Peeta and Katniss are reunited. They had been separated for a long time. An interesting twist was when Katniss first saw Peeta, he tried to strangle her. The reason for this was when the Capitol held him captive, they brainwashed him. All of his good memories became bad memories. Slowly District 13 specialists erased his bad memories. Peeta then remembered the reasons he truly loved Katniss. They were happy and in love again.
I would recommend this book to just about everybody. This is because of the superb writing of Suzanne Collins. This book will even hook readers who usually don’t enjoy fiction. The reason this is such a good read is it is an exciting and action-packed story. If you like thrillers, you will love this book! Thank you and get reading. I can’t wait to read your comments. If you are looking for a great fantasy book, Wolves of the beyond is perfect. I will tell you about book 2, Shadow wolf. Kathryn Lasky, the bookmaker, also made the book “The Guardians of Ga’hoole” which became a movie. Wolves of the beyond series is about a wolf named Faolan who was abandoned on an ice river, but he survived and was raised by a grizzly bear. Be ready to learn about the Beyond!
Faolan made it to the McDuncan pack and became a gnaw wolf, the lowest rank wolf. Faolan was raised to be a lone wolf (the title of book 1) and now he has to live with an entire pack. At the byrrgnock (a hunt) Faolan is supposed to smell prey scat, but instead he ran with the wolves and messed up their hunt. He had to go on trial because he broke the rules. The leader of the pack wanted to talk to Faolan, he told Faolan about a competition called the gaddergnaw. Faolan still had to take a punishment though so he had to carry the bone of shame with him for a little while. While he carried the bone of shame he met another gnaw wolf named Whistler. On his way back from the trail of shame (where you travel with the bone of shame) he saw a malcadh (an abandoned pup).Sadly he couldn’t save it because it is against the rules to touch a malcadh. So he left it, but his friend Gwynneth (an owl) later heard the malcadh being murdered! A murder is the most illegal thing to do. Gwynneth did not know what to do so she got the Sark (another wolf). So they went on an investigation, the Sark found Faolan’s scent but she knew he didn’t do it. Earlier that day Faolan came to the Sark and told her he was scared of what might happen to the malcadh. As they figure out the investigation, the gaddergnaw games begin!
My favorite part of the book is when the gaddergnaw games begun. I couldn’t wait to find out who won. I was kind of surprised by the results though (read the book to see what happens). Also I’m surprised what Faolan did. Another good part is when He runs with the wolves during the byrrgnock. It sounds like he is so free and happy.
If I had to recommend this book (1-10) I would give it a 10. The reason is because this series is my favorite series of all time. I can’t wait to finish the series.

In the story Days of Tears, it is about a family that is African American, and a slave seller owns them. So the father is trying to protect his family and trying to get them to freedom.

At the beginning of the book, the family has to go to a slave program where all of the slaves get sold to a different slave owner. During this time, the father of this family is trying to make sure him and his family doesn’t get sold separately. So when this slave selling is going on a women and her child are there also and her son had gotten sold to man and a women. The mother of this child was yelling and screaming so hard that a window had almost broken. The mother wouldn’t stop yelling so the security had token a night stick and had hit her at the back of her head so where she was knocked out. The good thing was that his family didn’t get sold to another owner they stayed with the same owner. After a couple weeks went by the father had secretly held an auction so where all the slaves had gotten together and tried to get to freedom.

My favorite part of the book was the auction because it showed how many slaves wanted to be free and be treated equally. I was impressed on how all the slaves had come together and stood up for one another.

I recommend this book to anyone who likes the history of the slaves back then, because this book is all about it.

Sincerely, Lindsay Wilson

The book I am doing a report on is A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly. It is a historical fiction book and took place in the early 1900s. Throughout the story you can infer it was a long time ago by the lack of technology. The author also shows the time zone by including unequal rights, and racism towards a character. Mattie Gockey, an older sister of three always has to make meals, do her sisters' hair, clean, and work on the farm with her pa. It's hard, endless work for Mattie, substituting for the family's deceased mother. She also goes to school with her sisters and her close friend, Weaver. Weaver always encourages Mattie and makes her want to go to college, but Mattie knows that her father barely wants her going to school because of all the help he needs at home. The new school teacher adores Mattie and loves her writing, and sends it away hoping to get Mattie accepted into a college. After a lot of begging, Mattie's father allows her to go to work at a hotel to earn some extra money. After starting her job with her friend Weaver, she comes back to her family to find them all very sick. Once cured, Mattie leaver her family and focuses on work. When she least expects it, Mattie gets accepted into the same college as Weaver, but now she must make a decision. Royal, a handsome, rich son of the neighbors becomes interested in Mattie and offers her a ring. Will Mattie get married to Royal, move down the street from her family, and still be able to care for the ones she loves, or go to college in New York and possibly become a writer? My favorite part of the book was when Mattie took care of her family. The author shows that Mattie cares about her sisters and Pa by including all the work around the house. Not only does Mattie have to be like a mother around the house, but she is also a daughter, student, and sister. The fact that she even left from work to support her family shows that she cared about them. I would definitely recommend this book for anybody who likes historical or just fiction books. Either gender from 11-14 years old would probably enjoy this book. After reading this book, I discovered it was my favorite book!

A really good book is the 39 clues The Sword Thief. The other books are good, but this one, in my opinion, is the best. It is by Peter Lerangis. All of the books are written by different authors. It is the third book in the series.
There are two main characters, Amy and Dan. With the help of their opar they can go places to find the all thirty nine clues and if found they give you the ultimate prize. The thing is they gave up 1 million dollars and don’t even know what the prize is. They have to find all the clues and then will know the prize. In this book, they find two Japanese swords and are telling them to go to Japan. While they are in Japan they think they need to climb a mountain, so they do. While climbing the mountain they find a secret cave. They go in and find a clue. They share the clue with their cousin and uncle, also in the competition, thinking they could help them. Dan didn’t think they could trust them so he gave them the wrong clue. After the cousin found out the clue they ran away and closed cave so Dan, Amy, and their uncle couldn’t get out. It looked like there was no way out when they saw something on the ceiling that looked like rat tails. They were not rat tails though they were ropes attached to the ceiling. The ceiling was made out of something that when lit blows up. They had three matches left. The first one did not light. The second caught fire and blew the ceiling off. Their uncle helped them out, but didn’t make it himself. Or did he.
My favorite part is when they were stuck in the cave and couldn’t get out. When Amy thought she saw rat tails she didn’t feel so good. When she realized what it was she felt better though. She knew that if she lit the ceiling it would explode and it did. The uncle was very cool to let them go first, but sad since he didn’t make it himself.
I would recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure or mystery. This book is adventure, because they travel to different countries and almost die. It is also a mystery, because they are looking for clues to find out the ultimate prize.

Looking for an exciting thriller? If you are, Full Tilt by Neal Shusterman should be at the top of your list. This book contains lots of action and excitement. The main character is named Blake, and he is a very organized and cautious person. He has a thrill-seeking brother named Quinn. Blake goes to Six Flags with Quinn and his best friends Maggie and Russ. When Blake gets to the ball throw, he knocks down all the cups and is awarded a stuffed bear with a piece of paper in its shirt pocket. This bear is given to him by a mysterious woman named Cassandra. Quinn immediately recognizes the piece of paper as an invitation to one the most hardcore theme parks in the world. Since Blake is afraid of rollercoasters (because of a traumatic childhood incident) he doesn’t want to go. Quinn does go, but his soul is trapped by the amusement park, so Blake and Quinn have to ride 7 rides to escape with their lives. My favorite part was when Blake saves Quinn from getting run over by a rollercoaster. Quinn climbed up a track to get his hat, and Blake jumped up and grabbed him a split second before the rollercoaster tore by. It was pretty intense. There are more twists and turns to this plot than some of the dangerous rollercoasters that Blake has to ride to escape the park. Blake goes through many trials that test his courage. All of the rides test his wits, and each ride knows his weaknesses. Even when he thinks he is able to make it through a ride, Cassandra keeps popping up to make it more difficult. Will he be able to face his fears and his terrifying past in order to save himself and his friends? I would recommend this book to anyone who likes a suspenseful action-packed, rip-roaring adventure. All of the challenges Blake faces seem impossible, so there’s plenty of nail-biting suspense to find out if he makes it. Full Tilt has all that inside 200 thrilling pages.

Wow! Tod Burpo writes Heaven Is For Real. What an astonishing book. This non-fiction read caught my eye, and I am beaming that it did. An intriguing story that is so true to life, and yet you never know what will happen next. This type of tale hits so close to home but still keeps you wanting more.
Heaven Is For Real is about a four year old boy named Colton. His appendix burst and he is fatally sick. Most of the story takes place in the hospital. His dad, a minister, and his mother are not satisfied with his care and search for the right facility to perform his crucial surgery. During the operation, he slips from consciousness and enters Heaven. He feels as though he is there for three hours, but when in reality it is a mere three minutes. His family frantically prays that he can endure this, and make it through alive. But they are unaware that their son is actually on a journey in Heaven. Colton's description of Heaven, and the people he meets there, astound those who realize he has valid information in which no one has ever spoken to him before. This makes their curiousity flourish.
My favorite part of the book is when Colton describes Jesus. The reason being... it really gave me a great picture of Jesus. The desription also gave me a better understanding of what the future holds. Heaven Is For Real not ony made me visualize God and Heaven, it made me believe. Last, knowing what Jesus looked like just gave it that little "sprinkle'' on top.
Ultimately, I would recommend this book to anyone that wants to learn more about Heaven. You will find yourself asking questions about your own life. Not only is this book inspiring, funny, and warm hearted, it is a soul searcher. Dont wait another minute. Get Heaven Is For Real today!

That was Then, This is Now

That was Then, This is Now was a powerful, realistic fiction. S.E. Hinton is the author of this fantastic Novel. The genre is a realistic fiction and very interesting. This book is something you should try out because I’m pretty sure you’ll like it. You should try out this book because it shows the close relationship of two best friends that have been together for all there life; they slowly start seeing a change.
This book is mainly about two friends name mark and Bryon. Mark is a trouble maker; he steels things, and gets bad grades. Bryon on the other hand likes to get into fights with Mark, and gets good grades, and smokes. This book mostly takes place at their house but also takes a pretty good amount of the setting at Cathy’s house. Mark and Bryon do everything together, until they start seeing a twist in their friend ship. Bryon gets a girl friend named Cathy, Mark feels lonely and jealous. Bryon and Cathy are getting really close and Bryon gets a job, Mark is also rolling in tons a money but Bryon doesn’t ask why. One day Cathy’s brother took a drug that made him lose most of his memory, so Bryon needs to find out how this happened.
My favorite part of the book was when Cathy’s brother ran away. The reason I love this part is because there on a big search looking for him. And at the time there unraveling a mystery. So this is the reason why I love this part of the book the most!
I would recommend this book to other readers because, it’s a heart breaking story I’m sure you’ll never forget. It’s also sort of a challenging book to read. So yes, I recommend this book to everyone.

A Boy At War

A Boy at War by Harry Mazer is a historical fiction novel. This book is about a boy, Adam, in who was fishing in the Pacific Ocean with his friends when Pearl Harbor was bombed. After getting back to shore Adam and his friends were separated. Adam found a rocket launcher and a rifle. He shot down one of the planes and was grazed at by the enemy.
Adam, a military child, attends high school in Honolulu. His dad is a soldier on a battleship at Pearl Harbor. Adam is a smart, young man who is able to make friends easily. He has a younger sister, Bea, who is 3 years old. Adam’s best friends, Davi and Martin get up early on a Sunday December 7, 1941 to go fishing in the Pacific Ocean. Even though the three boys came to fish they really only talked and Adam was telling them everything about the battle ships. Adam said, “My daddy is on the Arizona he told me that their titanium walls were 14 inches of pier metal, and there huge unbeatable fire power was unbelievable.” With in minutes the three boys were in the middle of the water looking at all the ships. All the sudden there were three little planes that grabbed the boy’s attention. They thought maybe it was some military exercise or they were making a movie and they get to watch from the boat. But then they heard huge blasts. They had no clue what was going on so as soon as they heard he explosions they hurried back to shore and ran to grab their bikes.
They’re watching bomb-by-bomb dropping on the ships. Adams heart is beating a mile a minute. He was so nervous about his mom and little sister Bea at home, but most of all his dad on the battle ship Arizona.
As Adam is running having no clue what’s going on finds a rifle and rocket launcher. He looks for a little bit thinking should I use this on the planes or not. His decision was made. He took the rocket launcher and shot down one plane and then trying for the next and realized there was no more bullets. As Adam is going home to be safe, he had no clue that there were Japanese soldiers on the ground. As he was walking home he felt a bullet graze his back and he fell in pain. Adam makes it home to his mom and Bea, but is wondering and worried about where Davi and Martin are.
A couple days later Adam finally shows his mom the bruise on his back. All the sudden the doorbell rings it’s Martin and he’s hurt bad, shot in the leg. Adam’s mom rushes him into the bedroom and she was a surgeon, luckily. Then after that Davi came with a small bruise from running into a wall on his face.
Day after day Adam and his mom were worried about dad. A couple days later they got a letter saying ” I’m extremely sorry but your father/husband is not to be found or M.I.A (missing in action) with many others.” As soon as they read it they both start crying. That night the colonel came to their house to tell them that the sergeant, his dad, was found. He was brutally shot and he was very sorry for their loss.
The best part of this book is when Adam shot down the plane. This is the most exciting part of the book because he is probably the only person who had the guts to shoot down a plane, who wasn’t a solider. He was brave and courageous to do such a terrifying thing.
I would certainly recommend this book to others because I liked that it was historical. I like book that have to do with war. I really liked how the characters were kids and not adults.

Jim and Me.
By: Dan Gutman

Would you ever like to back in time just by holding a baseball card. Well, this one kid can, his name is Stosh. He travels back in time just by holding an old baseball card. This book is called “Jim and Me”, by Dan Gutman. This is an interesting book for anyone who loves adventures and baseball. This is an amazing book for people who like mysteries, also.
This book starts off at a baseball game and it is the 9TH inning and Stosh is up to bat and there are 2 outs and bases are loaded. His coach is Flip Valentini, a professional baseball player who pitched for the Brooklyn Dodgers. But Stosh got out and every one was mad at him. When his enemy, Bobby Fuller, begs him for a favor. He wants Stosh to take him back in time to meet Native American Jim Thorpe—an Olympic champion who lost his medals in a scandal. Thorpe went on to play professional baseball and football, but he could never again achieve such fame. His name was disgraced.
My favorite part of this book is when Stosh actually helps his enemy and that to me shows a true kind person with a good heart.
If I were a critic, I would give this book 4 stars. I recommend this book to people who love adventures, baseball, and mysteries.

I read the shadows: the book of else where by Jacqueline West. The genre of this book is fiction. This book was interesting to me because olive the main character is exploring her new old house, which she thinks, has been owned by witches previously. The house possesses strange paintings painted by Mr. martin that are mysteriously stuck to the walls as creepy as that is she can also go through them! But she can only make it trough them when she has the spectacles she found in the house she also meets 3 cats and a boy that is trapped in the paintings named morton she also finds a lock it then something really strange happens but you are going to have to read the book to find out. My favorite part of the book was probably when she meets Mr. martins daughter in one of the paintings. She may seem sweet and nice But doesn’t let that fool you. She tries to get rid of olive and get her trapped in the paintings. I recommend this book to anyone who likes and good mystery and a lot of suspense. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole book. So next time your looking for a good mysterious book look for shadows the: book of elsewhere.

My book is called Savvy by Ingrid Law. The genre is fiction and the book is very magical. The main character is Mibs, but her real name is Mississippi. They live in Kansaska or Nebransas. They say that because they are right on the border of Kansas and Nebraska. The book is about a 13 year old girl who wants to find out what her savvy is. Her brothers, Samson, Fish, and Rocket are anxious too. At Mibs party she meets a boy named Will and his sister named Bobby. After a couple hours at the party they decide to go out side. The kids see a bus and hop on it. Later the bus takes off and is heading far away from home. So the kids take a long trip to Salina for their father. Along the way they meet many people and see many attractions. My favorite part is when Mibs notices that Samson’s turtle is not dead. He said no mibs its just hibernating. Samson was right. For a second mibs thought her savvy was waking up creatures and people. I recommend this book to any one who likes fiction stories with some funny parts and serious parts. You would like it very much because it has very risk-taking parts that come to a happy ending. I really this book and I hope you will to.

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares is the first book of the great Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants series, and a realistic fiction novel. The book is about four teenage girls about to spend their first summer away from each other. A few days before they all leave one of the main characters Carmen finds a pair of old jeans that fit all of the best friends. The rest of the summer they stay in touch by sending the pants to each other and writing letters about what happened to them while they were wearing them. My favorite part of the novel is near the end of the girls' summer. Carmen, the girl who found the pants, decides to go to her dad's second wedding to her new step mom. After a rough summer of wrapping her brain around the fact that her dad is getting remarried, she goes to the wedding and isn't mad at him anymore. The whole novel is very sentimental and is a great book for any girl in junior high and high school. Despite the odd name, I hope everyone who reads the novel loves it like I did. I would highly recommend this book.

Knucklehead by Jon Scieska is an AMAZING BOOK!! Let me tell you about the book. The genre of Knucklehead is a biography. Also, there are a lot of funny things in there like for example, they were playing war with their brother Tom and they were throwing dirt, let me tell you it didn’t work out to great, he got hit in the face with the dirt. OUCH!!!!! Some people are like cool but if you got hit with dirt that hard you would probably get hurt. The book, knucklehead, is super funny like when Gregg liked to play in the toilet, Jeff rolls of the couch, Brian dug in the plants and ate the dirt. Jon, the main character, has a hilarious personality like for example, he was swearing and sister Mary, the teacher, caught them swearing so they had to write all the swear words that they knew but, they thought that sister Mary was god’s wife so he wrote words that end in head and he got out of detention. My favorite part of the book is when they were making their own Halloween costumes . I have a connection to that part of the story, when my brother didn’t want to get a costume. So we went and made our own just like Jon and his brothers. Guess what he was Mickey Mouse. YAY!!
I think you people would love this book. I think you would like this book because it’s funny, and interesting, and it’s about Jon Scieszka. Would you like this book?

The book I read was Legend by Marie Lu.This book is science-fiction.If you liked the Hunger Games or Divergent you would probably enjoy this book. Legend is a about an outlaw named Day and a prodigy named June. In the book when you are ten years old you have to take a trial and that is how they place you in society. I you get a low enough score you go away to the Republic training camps. So Day and June come from two completely different worlds; Day living in one of the poorest sectors and June in one of the richest. Day lives with his friend Tess, only surviving off garbage food and trying to avoid the plague. On the other hand June goes to the top school in all the sectors, Drake. She lives with her older brother Metias, who is a soldier. Throughout the story the characters paths cross, experiencing each others worlds. Each character experiences pain and tragedy, but that only propels them more. One of my favorite parts that kept me wanting to read more was when there was a Skiz fight in a bar. It reminded me of battle training in Divergent. This book is action filled with suspense that will keep you reading. I hope that you will read this book and love it as much as I did!

The Mark of Athena
The “Mark of Athena” is a fiction book written by Rick Riordan and was published in the year 2012. “Mark of Athena” is also the third book in the Heroes of Olympus series, which is connected with the Percy Jackson series. I found this amazing book to be action-packed and filled with excitement. I had my eyes glued to this book because it would not let me put it down; it is truly a must-read! I know Riordan put long-hard thought into this fabulous book and tries his best to satisfy readers. Let me tell you, this book defiantly delivered and made me thinking long and hard on what will be in the next book!
The book starts off with Camp Half-Blood campers Annabeth Chase, Jason Grace, Piper Mclean, and Leo Valdez landing the Argo 2 in Camp Jupiter, which is located in California. These demigods are trying to find their missing camper Percy Jackson and the other members of the prophecy of seven. Their other goal is to try and restore peace between Greek and Roman for help against the giants. After staying in New Rome for a while, Leo returns to inside the Argo 2 and shoots Camp Jupiter; (the group later finds out that Leo was possessed). The Romans are immediately rallied into frenzy by their augur, Octavian and attack the opposite camp members. All seven members of the prophecy escape into the ship. Including Percy Jackson, a Greek, who is the son of Poseidon and able to control water. He was also taken from Camp Half-Blood by Hera to Camp Jupiter. Another member is Jason Grace, a Roman, who is the son of Jupiter and able to control wind and lightning. Also Annabeth Chase, a Greek, who is the daughter of Athena and is incredibly wise. The other members include Frank Zhang, Hazel Levesque, Leo Valdez, and Piper Mclean. These demigods must travel to Rome to stop Gaea and her Giants.
From California they make stops in the Great Salt Lake, Topeka, Kansas and then in Atlanta, Georgia all which have lead to trouble. After leaving Topeka, Percy has an important vision. Hazel’s half-brother Nico has been imprisoned and guarded by two giants in Rome. Annabeth Chase also discovers that when in Rome she must make a dangerous solo quest to find the Athena Parthenos, a statue that she thinks will heal the grudge between the two camps. The group makes their final stop in Charleston, North Carolina. There the demigods are attacked by the angry Romans. Annabeth finds a map at Fort Sumter that will help with finding the Athena Parthenos. As she is heading back to the ship she encounters Camp Jupiter’s praetor, Reyna. Annabeth makes it past Reyna and everyone makes it to the ship safetly. The group travels to Rome by boat and are faced with many mishaps including pirates, sea monsters, and the minor god, Hercules. They finally make it to Rome and from there they split up. Annabeth goes on her solo quest to find the statue, while Hazel, Frank, and Leo go and search for Nico. Percy, Piper, and Jason also travel to find Nico.
Hazel, Frank, and Leo have no luck finding him, but do find Archimede’s scrolls hidden inside a chamber. Percy, Piper, and Jason have better luck and find the twin giants and Nico. Percy and Jason battle and defeat Otis and Ephialtes, with help from the wine god Bacchus. Meanwhile, Annabeth meets Arachne and outwits her in to spinning her own trap. Everyone including Nico, return to Annabeth. Just as they are about to board the ship Annabeth is pulled down into Tartarus by some of Arachne’s trap. Percy grabs Annabeth’s arm and soon realizes he can’t save her...
I would have to say my favorite part in this fabulous book is the ending. Sadly, I can’t give it away, but I have to say I loved the description that Rick Riordan included. He really made me feel like I was in the book with everyone. Riordan also created tension that added to the effect of how serious the situation was. The way Riordan wrote the ending made me love it and remember it.

I would recommend this book to someone that likes action and fiction. This book is very large and sometimes can be complicated to understand. Plus, if you are going to read the “Mark of Athena” I highly recommend reading the other books in the series. For experienced readers that have read large fiction books before, this is the one for you. This book is very interesting and can keep your attention if you intend to read it.

My book is Divergent, by Veronica Roth. It is the first book before Insurgent. It is a thriller and always has you guessing what is going to happen next. The genere of this book is science fiction.

Beatrice Prior, (Tris) is a sixteen year old girl, who is about to meet her fate. All sixteen year olds have to choose a faction, Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). For Tris, it is up to her to either stay with her famiy, or be who she really is. And she cannot have both. She has made the desicion that has suprised everyone, including herself. Her and other initiates, will have to face further conflicts, and some were devestating consequences. Who are her real friends? She will have to choose. Along with a boy that fits perfectly in her life, she has chosen, Four. This book is take place in Chicago, so it is fun to point out the things that they mention in the book like, Navy Pier. My favorite part, was probably the ending, because it has a sad, devastating conflict, that is sad and terrifying. This book is full of never ending acion that keeps apearing left and right, which is also one of the reasons why i love this book so much. I also like it because of the Hunger Games, because i love to be thrilled with differrent events that have happened as i read them and they both take place in the future. They are simaler, but i think i like Divergent better, because of where i takes place, and how the mystery ties into it from all the action. If you are looking for a new novel, and love to read books like the Hunger Games series, then you will like Divergent. Divergent is a book that will keep you up, wanting to read more! I recommend this book to everyone. start reading!

My book is called “Tallahassee Higgins” and it is about a girl, Tallahassee, who grew up with her mom, Liz, in Tallahassee, Florida. The genre is realistic fiction. Right when I started reading this book I knew it was going to be good, and I was right. I loved it! It made me think at some points and ask myself a lot of questions. I finished it within a couple weeks to figure out if her mom would ever come back…you’ll see. But if you want to find out you have to read the book!
Tallahassee has a twist in her life. Her carefree mom moves to California with her boyfriend, after spending all her life with her, to become a movie star, and things get changed. Tallahassee has to live with her uncle and aunt that she never even met in Maine, but her aunt doesn’t get along very well with her. Tallahassee gets in trouble all the time because they do things different there than in Florida when her mom didn’t care what she did. Tally (Tallahassee) makes a new friend, Jane, whose mom doesn’t seem to like her very much because of something her mom did when they were friends. Tally tries to figure out who her dad was and she may guess the right guy, who looks exactly like her: red hair and freckles.
My favorite part was when Tally made a new friend. She didn’t know anybody to go to school with and they all hated her because they thought she was lying about her mom becoming an actress. Except for one, Jane. Jane is really fond of Tally, but her mom isn’t. Jane and Tally become really great friends and they live behind each other and it reminds me of my best friends who lives behind me and we hangout a lot just like Tally and Jane do. If Tally has to stay after school then Jane waits for her, visa versa.
If you love to read Mary Downing Hahn books, I recommend this book to you. You will love it! It has a twist and it kind of makes you feel bad for her and it kept me entertained throughout the whole story. I’m a big fan of Mary Downing Hahn, and I loved this book.

The book I read is, "Cages" by Peg Kehert. The genre of this book is realistic fiction. You'll like this book if you like books that you can relate to or make connections. You'll meet a wide range of characters like Kit, Tracy, Dorothy, Wayne, Miss Fentoon, Mrs. Phillips, and so many more!
This book started out as Kit in class giving her final speech about how shoplifting is wrong. Kit starts out as a good student in search of a scholarship, but makes a very bad mistake. Then the next chapter was when the cast list was to be posted for the scholarship. She had lost the lead role to Marcia. Then when she went home her stepfather was on another on of his drinking binges, he threw a glass and called her names. So she stormed off to the mall were she never thought she'd get caught. As part of her punishment is to work at the Humane Society for 20 hours and 2 hour shifts each day.
My favorite part of the book would have to be during the middle of the story. Kit was at the Humane Society socializing the dogs there. That's where she met Lady. A medium sized rusty colored terroir. She's on the cover of the novel as well.
I really liked this book. I think kids and teens can relate to this book if they're going through things like Kit was. I recommend this book for kids who want to read a book about a teen's journey to release herself from the cages.

If you're looking for a good book you should definitely read mine! My book is called the " Grimm Legacy". The author of this book is Polly Shulman. The genre of this book is fiction. Someone would be interested in my book if they like a little action, a little mystery, and magic! This is an awesome book for something fun to read.
My book is about a girl named Elizabeth who is in Mr. Mauskopf's social studies class and she is a wonderful student. Mr. Mauskopf advises her to work at the Repository. The Repository is a place here people can borrow normal items and magic items. So Elizabeth applies and is excepted to work there. Elizabeth mostly works there with Marc, Aaron, Ms. Calendar, and a few other people. After Elizabeth can be trusted they give her a key to the grimm collection. This is where all the magic items are! But now that she has a key to the collection a big bird is following her and others workers around. Nobody knows what it is but if you want to know you'll have to read my book.
If you like magic, mystery, or a little bit of action this book is for you! This book could be suitable for anyone who likes to read. I hope you read this fabulous book!

Wow! Wow! Just read Divergent BY: Veronica Roth. It was an amazing book with both action and romance. The action was so good I felt I was fighting along side by side the main characters. The romance was so realistic.
The book divergent is a dystopian future book. The main character Elizabeth or Tris is 16 and at that age you need to choose a fraction. A fraction is divided into four there is Abnegation, Dauntless, Candor, Amity, Erudite. Abnegation is a fraction mostly with politics it has all these strict. Dauntless are the ones who are supposed to fear nothing; also they are the protectors of the city. Candors are the people who can tell lies. Amity who are all about peace and calm. Erudite are the people with all the brains. So Elizabeth or tris goes to this simulation were it determines what fraction you should choose. Then, something goes wrong though were she has 2 test answers instead of one. Which are dauntless and erudite. This makes her divergent, which is really dangerous, so her person has to erase her test scores. At the choosing ceremony she chooses dauntless and her brother chooses Erudite. When she gets to the dauntless compound she changes her name to tris. So over the next few weeks she trains to be a dauntless. Over then people go home, get hurt, and she even gets a few friends. Her friends are Christina, will, and marlin, Uriah. While she is training she believes she is falling for one of her trainers four. While her other trainer is creepy and scary. She finally becomes a Dauntless then things go wrong. The erudite try to start a war. Now you need the book yourself to find out what happens next.
My favorite part in the book is when Elizabeth or Tris goes to the Dauntless compound for the first time. In the book they make it seem so real her exhilaration it makes me feel so happy that she seems finally free from Abnegation with their strict rules. At abnegation she seemed so lifeless now it at Dauntless it seems like she has something to live for. That’s my favorite part in the book.
If you like any futuristic book I recommend Divergent it’s really realistic. The book takes places when they can cure things in an instant with medicine. This book is also like the Hunger Games. The main Character in the Hunger Games and Divergent are both indepent strong women role models. This book is very spectacular I recommend reading it.

If you are looking for an interesting book to read you should read this one. I chose the book The 39 Clues Maze of Bones. The book is by Rick Riordan and is a very thrilling mystery book. The book is a very suspenseful, action, mystery that grabs you and doesn’t let go. I’m going to let you know about the main plot events.
In the beginning, Grace Cahill dies which is Amy and Dan Cahill’s grandma. In her will she gives the choice of 1,000,000 dollars or a clue to the answer which is the answer to the universe. Dan and Amy decide to choose the clue. The clue leads them to Europe. They have many challenges though like the competition. It seems like all the competition have money and are overpowering except for Amy and Dan. For example, the Holts are very strong, rich, and have five people in their family. The Wizards have lots of fame to help their own cause. Also, their au pair, Nellie Gomez, doesn’t have much money for hotels, their flights, and food. Also, they need to be one step ahead of their opponents and they have to make sure they don’t give any information to their opponents. The problems they face are very challenging and the clues are very confusing. This really is a great book.
My favorite part is the end of the book. It ends with the line with the whole universe hanging in the balance. I like this because of the curiosity it leaves in the air. It made me want to make me keep reading. This single line is what made me keep reading the other books.
I recommend this book to anyone who liked the Hunger Games. It has lots of mystery and action just like the Hunger Games. If you like to see the styles of different authors than this is the sequel for you. These books have lots of different authors. All in all if you like mystery books these are the books for you. Thank goodness that there’s ten different books.

My book that I chose for our book report is the Wanderer. The author of my novel is Sharon Creech. It is a realistic fiction book based on a girl named Sophie who has a mysterious past. Sophie is a 13 year-old girl who obsesses over the sea. She is the only girl in a crew accompanied by her three uncles and two cousins. The book is told in a diary format switching from her cousin, Cody, and Sophie, herself
Sophie and her cousin, Cody, feel lost. They do not know where their place is on the voyage, or in the world. Sophie doesn’t feel right. She needs to find herself. The sea calls her name and leads her on the right path to realize that her past is nothing to be ashamed of. Cody needs to prove himself to his family. They don’t take him seriously and he needs to feel some kind of pride. The way to do that is to prove he’s not a goof. Throughout the journey, Cody shows his strength and knowledge by solving every problem that approached them. Each uncle and cousin and Sophie try to find who he or she are in the world and find his or her calling.
My favorite part of this book is when the storm hits and Cody proves himself. In this part of the book, Cody fights through the storm and Sophie fights through her fears and gains confidence. She then admits her past. They both showed absolute strength within the fears and confidence.
I recommend this book to anyone. If you are interested in adventure or mystery, this book is for you. Both sides of Cody’s perspective and Sophie’s will keep you hooked on their journey to England to visit their grandfather, Bompie. They find themselves and learn new things about themselves. It is truly interesting and wonderful.

Looking for a interesting read? Well "Flipped" by Wendelin Van Draanen is one for you! This book is about two young kids who learn about each other, fall in love, then all of a sudden hate each other! The characters are Julianna and Bryce. All throughout the book they have mixed emotions for each other. One minute Julianna will be head over heals for Bryce while he thinks that she is a total lunatic. The next minute he will be having the biggest crush on her and than she will be hating his guts. Throughout these events I believe it can be very humorous but also a little sad.

When Bryce gets a girlfriend that is one of the most popular girls in the school, Julianna gets REALLY jealous. The girl that once was just the average person in the school becomes Julianna's arch-nemesis. All Julianna sees her as is evil. Her name was Shelly Stalls. In Julianna's eyes, all she was, was a delicate, big haired, girly girl.

Although Julianna had problems with Bryce, she also had problems with her uncle. Her uncle David was born "Retarded" and her family has to pay for all the medicine bills and nursing home bills. This causes her family to be a little bit on the poor side. Then one day on her Uncle David's 40th birthday, she decides to go with her dad. She felt as if she doesn't even know him because she rarely sees him. She has a very interesting experience seeing how her uncle lives at the nursing home.

This book is a heartfelt drama that you are sure to love!

“Shadow” is a book about a dog that doesn’t have a home. The author does a good job explaining how dogs are used for more than just a pet; they can be helpful to the blind person or someone who can’t see. Charles and Lizzie Peterson love puppies. Their family fosters these young dogs, giving them love and proper care, only until they can find the perfect forever home. When the Petersons meet Shadow they know he is special. Shadow is a cute Black Lab and he is extremely smart!!My favorite part of the book is when they find Shadow the perfect forever home. I can connect to this because I fostered a boxer for a week. His name was Shamrock and he was a great dog to foster. The family was perfect. I was so glad we found Shamrock the perfect forever home. I recommend this book to anyone who likes dogs. I love dogs and If you like dogs this is the perfect book for you. This is a great recommendation.

“DRUMS, GIRLS, & DANGEROUS PIE”

I HAVE BEEN READING A BOOK CALLED “DRUMS, GIRLS, & DANGEROUS PIE”, BY JORDAN SONNENBLICK. IT IS A GREAT BOOK IF YOU LIKE COMEDY BUT THERE’S A LITTLE OF DRAMA, TOO. IT’S ALSO A REALISTIC FICTION BOOK. THE BOOK IS REALLY AMAZING! I WILL TELL YOU A LITTLE ABOUT IT.

Steven has a totally normal life (well, almost): He plays drums in the All-City Jazz Band (whose members call him Peasant). Has a crush on the hottest girl in school (who doesn’t even know he’s alive). He is constantly annoyed by his younger brother Jeffery (who is cuter than cute-which is also pretty annoying to him). When Steven’s little brother Jeffery gets sick, his world is turned upside down. He is forced to deal with his brother’s illness .His parents’ attempts to keep the family in one-piece .His homework, the band, girls, and Dangerous Pie. You will have to read the rest of the book to find out what it is.

My favorite part of the book was when it all started. Steven got up early in the morning to practice on his drums. All of the sudden his little brother, Jeffery, came down. He asked if Steven could make him some moat meal. Moat meal is really oatmeal, Jeffery just calls it that. So they went upstairs and Steven set Jeffery on a stool. The bad thing is, Steven’s mom told him that when Jeffery is on the stool, someone has to be right next to him. Just because he is too small and can fall out. While Steven is making the oatmeal, he hears a big bang. It was Jeffery .He fell of the stool. When he picked him up his nose was gushing blood. His mother took him to the doctor and they told her that he might have cancer.

This book is all about the famous Steve Jobs.It tells his whole life. From when he was a little boy, to a really smart adult. It tells about the different stuff he created, and the computers he made too. This book tells about how when Steve was young he was always Fascinated by machines. He would always watch his dad, build and repair things. He named the mouse, he got ideas off of an Xerox.Just like his friend Steve Jobs.He even made a computer that people can use.In the book, my favorite part was when it said that Steve would show up bare foot to business meetings! In my opinion, I think that this book would be recommended to those who like technology.I would also recommend this book to people that want to know different things about his life.it would lastly be recommended to the people who want to also know about the different things Steve invented.

The book I chose to read was Wild Things by Clay Carmichael the genre of this book is fiction. This story is about a brave girl named Zoë who has survived most of her life on her own and doesn’t plan to stop now. Her mother has died and is her Uncle Henry’s responsibility. She meets many friends along the way some who are animals out in the wilderness and some that have little time to live, but overall she still learns to love and care about them. So be prepared to learn about the wonderful life story about Zoë Royster!
The book starts off at the grocery store when Henry and Zoë meet Mrs. Wilson a former doctors wife who Zoë calls “The Skunk Woman.” When they are driving back home they get in an argument. Henry introduces Fred a clos friend of his who has an ill wife named Bessie who is eager to explore the world. Zoë meets a wondering cat and names it Mr.C’mere. She also meets Maud Booker a woman claiming to be her fathers mother. There are also people Zoë dislikes like Henry’s bosses Lillian and Sid who are his former bosses Mr.Sasser’s awful offsprings. One place Zoë is eager to be is the abandoned cabin in the woods which has priceless treasures Zoë has a unique taste for. One interesting part in the book is when Zoë and Henry get in a fight about Zoë’s education in which Zoë doesn’t want to attend school. During school she meets a young boy named Hargrove who she says is carving a whole in the back of her head. Zoë also encounters her Mom’s friends that she has seen in the past. These are just some of the important details in the book.
One hilarious part in the book that is also one of my favorites is when Henry and Zoë are at the grocery store and as Zoë calls her “ The Skunk Woman” is there too. In this part of the book they greet each other. Henry tells her that she has come to live with him, and Zoë responds with, “Nice of him, too seeing how I’ve served hard time.” Mrs. Wilson replies with “I see that mendacity and smart tongues run deep in the Royster’s family, alongside promiscuity and godless ways.”
