The book I am doing for my February Book Report is Charlotte's Web. The author of this book is E.B White. Also, this is an award-winning book. I was excited to read this book. This book is about a pig named Wilbur who was a runt, and he became friends with a girl named Fern. She kept him and later in the story, he met a spider named Charlotte who is very wise. Some important events are when Charlotte makes webs for Wilbur which makes him become famous.
I think the theme of the message is that friends are not only good luck but very important just like how Wilbur and Charlotte are really good friends. In the book, they are nice to each other and Charlotte would make webs for Wilbur. Charlotte and Wilbur would always comfort each other. They were very true friends to each other too. That is how Charlotte and Wilbur are really good friends.
My opinion of this book is that I really liked it, and I could not put this book down. Although, some of the words could have been a little more interesting. I think that this was a good award winning book because it teaches kids a good lesson about friendship. Also, it won because it was not letting people put the book down, that is how good it was. Also, when Charlotte died, Wilbur was upset but strong and took care of Charlotte's eggs. I was pretty surprised that Charlotte died at the end including they were such good friends. I give this book a rating of four out of five (4/5). You should read this award-winning classic (if you haven't already) because it is a really good book about friendship.

The book i did for my February Book Report is The Thief Lord. The author of this book is Cornelia Funke. This book was about two brothers Bo and Prosper who are orphans and run away from there cruel aunt and uncle. The brothers decide to go to Venice, Italy where they meet a mysterious thirteen year old who calls himself The Thief Lord. The Thief Lord steals things and he is the leader of the group of kids who have ran away from there families. One important event in the story is that Victor a detective has to look for Bo and Prosper.
The theme of the story is that family and friends are always there for you when you need them the most. In the book, Prosper is always taking care of Bo and Prosper is always worried about Bo and himself because they don't want Victor to find them and take them back to there aunt and uncle. Also in the book the group of kids that ran away are always sticking together and sharing things because they don't have alot of stuff. These were examples of the theme of the book.
I think this book was great! I could not stop reading it. This book was very interesting. I think this book was an award winning book because its very interesting. This book also has a good message. Also it has alot of surprising events! I would give this book a rating of five out of five(5/5). You should read this amazing book!

For my book report I did The Thief Lord. The auther is Cornelia Funke. The Theif Lord is about two brothers who runaway from their mean aunt and uncle. After running away to Venice, Italy they meet a boy called The Theif Lord who steals itms from places to care for other runaway kids that The Theif Lord has found wondering the streets of Venice. An important event in the story is when the kids who have ran away had found out that The Theif Lord has been lieing and has a real house and he was never a runaway.
The theme for this book is that you can count on others. In the story, Prosper ,the older brother, takes care of his little brother Bo. Also, The Theif Lord counts on the others to watch their house which is an abandoned movie theater and the others count on The Theif Lord to get supplies they need.
My opinion on this book was that it was great! It was hard to put it down. I think this book won an award because it was so fantastic! This book was very exciting and interesting. My ratings would be 5 out of 5 because of how fascinating it was. I recomand this book to everyone!

The book called My Secret War was written by Mary Pope Osborne. This was a really good book about a girl named Madeline Beck who lived Russia near Germany in the year of 1941.The book was about a girl who had two best friends named Theo and Maxine. She also has a dad that was in the U.S. Navy and worked on an aircraft carrier. There was a part in the book when Pearl Harbor gets bombed by Japanese planes, and Madeline got worried because she didn’t know where Pearl Harbor was. The next day her mom told her that Pearl Harbor was in Hawaii and she knew her dad worked off the East coast. That news was a relief with her.
The message of the book was follow the rules and that was also the lesson she learned. About half way through the story Madeline and her friend Theo kept sneaking out of their house and going to the beach. Then one day they found a pile of seaweed at the dunes and to them that was weird for seaweed to get that far up the beach. The kids wiped off the seaweed and there was a wooden door. They opened the door and found a Nazi underground bunker. They knew this because of the folded Nazi uniforms and the red, white, and black swastika flags. They were scared and very curious, but the next week when they got caught by the U.S. soldiers, they got in big trouble.
I thought this was a very interesting book at first then it turned into a very addictive book. This book contained a lot of action, especially when the kids got in the dunes. The main character of this book was a very curious person she always wanted to explore the land with her friend Theo. I think who ever reads this report should also read the book because you never know what is going to happen. Everything in this book was a surprise and the book really never got that boring. That is why I liked the book and you should also read it.

The book I did for my report was Day of Tears by Julius Lester. This book is both an award winning and a historical fiction. It was great. It's about some slaves (mostly one named Emma) and their owners. Also, they talk about slave auctions that used to happen in the "olden days." Something very important that happened is when Emma, one of the slaves, was sold to a nice, old lady named Mrs. Henfield with another slave named, Joe. Emma's old master, Pierce Butler, was in debt for gambling, and even though he said that he would't sell her, he did. I think that this book is about learning from your past. I think this because in the story it has little chapters of what the people thought about their past, and what they thought they knew what was right and wrong. I really liked this book. I also think that it got the Coretta Scott King Award because it seemed almost real, like you could feel the same way as the characters. It was interesting ,but obvious, what happened at the end. I'd rate this book a four out of five (4/5) because it got a little boring at some times. Other than that, I highly recommend this book.

Joey Pigza Swallowed the Key by Jack Gantos is the book I chose for my book report. I thought that the book was interesting and pretty funny. Joey Pigza is an energetic kid that has problems in class. He has trouble focusing and needs extra help with school. He does not pay attention in class. He zones out a lot in class and even swallowed a key. Some very important events in this passage to the highlight the theme of this story was that he, was left to live with his grandmother in his beginning years of his life, he has several problems in class and trouble focusing, but is a good hearted person.
There can be many themes in this story, but I think the most important theme is that people have the ability to change. Further explained in the beginning of the story Joey has problems since his childhood. Later on into the story when Joey gets the help he needs from his mom, medication, and special ED. He accomplishes control and he does what he wants to do and becomes calmer.
As I sum up my review, in general I liked the book. I enjoyed this novel because it showed how even people with big problems, can change their appearance, attitude, and the way you go of life. I think that this novel started off in more of an interesting way than exciting. But It definitely became more exciting more into the passage. The book had a lot of suspense in my opinion, not as much action but it had me thinking what’s going to happen, which I liked a lot. The final reason that I thought was big about this was the characters amount of strength. Most readers probably think that it was the help he got, or his mom changing him. But if you really think about it, it was Joey who was the one who over came everything. No doubt about it the special help, and medication worked, but he still did a big part in his approval. So for those reasons I liked this book a lot.

Emma’s Journal

By: Marissa Moss

What would you do if you were suddenly separated from your family to go live with your Aunt, with no choose? This book is about a 10 year old girl named Emma that is forced to move away from her parents and sister to go live with her aunt. At her aunts house, in Boston, Emma is put to work by her aunt, almost like a slave you could say. After awhile in Boston, Emma meets her neighbor,Amos, the two become really good friends, to where Emma starts to think of her as a sister.

I believe the theme of this story is, you have to work for what you get, things are not always going to get handed to you. Emma works extremely hard to get things. For example, Emma sews, weaves, and washes at her aunts house. Emma desperately wants to help the American struggle for freedom. When Papa gives her a secret code the militia uses, she finally gets her chance to change the course of history.

I personally would give this book a rating of 3 out of 5, because it was not as interesting as i planned it would be. I would of loved for this book to have more suspense. I think this is why my book did not win an award. Even though this book was not one of my favorites, I would recommend it to my friend to read it.

“The War Within”, written by Carol Matas, is a fantastic book about the Civil War, filled with action and adventure! In the book, Joanna, Hannah’s sister, gets engaged to a Union soldier, an enemy! Then, Hannah discovers that all Jews have to leave for violating trade regulations. When they hear that the Confederates will be coming to their town, all the woman get busy hatching a plan to get the Union soldiers drunk for the battle. Hannah won’t tell Joanna because she knows that she’ll warn the Union, but, when Joanna does find out, after the Confederates arrive, she has a hard time forgiving Hannah. Her family leaves just in time for their house to be blown up, by their own men. They even lose their slaves, when Lincoln says that they can be free.
In the book Hannah is abused because she is a Jew and she doesn’t get it, but she still sees African Americans as a lesser race. She realizes later that whether they’re Jewish or African American, everyone is the same inside. So, I think that the theme is that everybody should be treated equal, no matter what their race or religion is.
I think this book should win an award because it really grabs you with all of its twists in the story line. It also has a lot of suspense in it so you’re never really sure what will happen next! Once I picked this book up, it was very hard to put down! Plus, it has a really surprising twist to the ending because they let the slave, who didn’t want to leave their family in the first place, be free and just live with them as a part of their family! It was probably the fastest book, for a book report, to read because I could never stop reading it!

The historical fiction book I read was called "Meet Samantha an American Girl". This book is written by Susan S. Adler. Samantha is a nine year-old girl living in America durning 1904. She lives in a stately home with Gandmary, her wealthy grandmother and their hired help; Jessie( the seamstress ),Elsa( the maid ), Mrs.Hawkins(the cook), and Mr. Hawkins( the butler). Samantha spends her days looking for ways to entertain herself until A poor girl named Nellie moves in next door. They become best of friends and adventure partners.

The theme of the novel is to be a good person, you have to look beyond yourself and help others. Samantha respected the hired workers as much as her own Grandmary. Samantha realized Actions speak louder then words. When Nellie moved in she became friends with Samantha . When it was time for Nellie to go back home Samantha realized nellies family didn't have much money . Samantha decided to take action by giving Nellie a food basket. Then Samantha decided to give Nellie the doll that samantha had earned with all of her hard work. Samantha knew it would mean more to Nellie then it would to Samantha because nellie never had a doll. Samantha also was informed that Jessie (the seamstress)was leaving, Jessie was also one of Samantha's friends. So Samantha and Nellie decided to go figure out why she was leaving, but Jessie had already left. So the girls had decided to sneak out of there houses to go to Jessie's house. When they got to Jessie's house they peaked into the window and saw jessie holding a baby. Then Jessie went out side and saw the girls and asked jessie why she had left.jessie went over to the cradle and picked up a baby that looked just like jessie.

I thought the book was interesting . I thought it was cool to see how strict people were back then in 1904. How they spoke was interesting too. The book also teaches you actions speak louder then words. Over all I would recommend the book " meet Samantha " to everyone.

The Ghost and Mrs. Hobbs
Written by Cynthia DeFelice

Book report written by
Greg S.

The Ghost and Mrs. Hobbs written by Cynthia DeFelice is not only a very good book, but is a very suspenseful one too. The book is about a girl named Allie, who has a special ability to see ghost. A very special event in the story is when she goes to Mrs. Hobbs house, the scary cafeteria lady, and finds her brother underneath the run down house. Another one is when she is interviewing Mrs. Hobbs for a school project and Allie asks Mrs. Hobbs a question that makes her very angry and Mrs. Hobbs starts a fire with her own two eyes.
The theme or message of this book is that you can’t trust everyone. In the story a ghost named John Walker comes to Allie to try to avenge his death. The ghost leads her to Mrs. Hobbs but when Allie is ready to face Mrs. Hobbs she finds out then John Walker was lying and Mrs. Hobbs didn’t do anything wrong.
My opinion on this book is 10 out of 10. This book was very exciting and scared me at some points. The Ghost and Mrs. Hobbs contained a lot of action and suspense. The main charter in this book was very brave to stand up to the scary cafeteria lady. This book was one of the best books I’ve ever read and I recommend it to anyone who likes scary and suspenseful books.

The book I read for my February Book Report is called "A Day No Pigs Would Die". The author of this book is Robert Newton Peck, and it is an Award Winning book. The tone of the book is lighthearted and optimistic. "A Day No Pigs Would Die" takes place in the late 1930's.

This book is a good one. It is mainly about a twelve-year-old boy that has a well education and juggles backbreaking work on the farm with his family -- mostly his father. When Robert, the main character, saves his neighbor's cow, he gets a reward. This reward is a pig. Of course, Robert names it an obvious name: Pinky. Pinky is Rob's everywhere-I-go companion. But Pinky has to be killed so Rob's family can have food for the winter.

Rob just cannot accept something as cruel as this. His family knows Pinky is important to him. Rob knows it, too.

This book makes you think. You really need to know what's happening. You have to make inferences. It doesn't just tell you every tiny detail.

How will Rob end up if Pinky is killed? You'll have to read the book to find out.

Theme: Acceptance of the inevitibility of life.

The book I did was Wait Till Helen Comes Mary Downing Hahn. It was a good award wining book. I wish I could be a character in the book. I was scared the whole time because it was a terrifying ghost book that thought had a good plot, and had an interesting ending and awesome
reward to reading it. This book has 3 characters named molly, micheal, and heather. But don't forget Helen who died years ago by accidently drowning in her own pond at the age of 7. To find out more I guess you'll just have to read the book yourself its chilling and riveting. Goodbye fellow peaches

For my February book report I did " The Egypt Game" by Zilpha Keatley Snyder. This book is about how three kids ( April, Melanie and Marshall ) invented The Egypt Game. In this game you have to pretend you are actually in ancient Egypt. This game takes place in a deserted storage yard behind A-Z Antiques. When the owner of the store finds out about their game, he becomes "obsessed" with it. Everyday when the kids would come home from school, they would go to the storage yard and hold rituals and ceremonies. For example, to start every ceremony, Melanie would place a crown of thorns on a Nefertiti statue that they found in the storage yard. Little did they know that they were being watched by the owner of the store who would rather watch the kids than help the customers.

The theme of this story is to express what you like even if other people think that it is weird or silly. I know this because in the story it says that some of the school's popular kids stumbled across The Egypt Game when they were walking through the alley behind the store and told everyone in school about it. The other kids would tease them about the game but they didn't mind because they were doing something they loved to do.

I thought this was a very interesting book that kept you guessing. If you like mystery and maybe a little bit of drama, this is definitely the book for you.

Daniel's Story
By: Carol Matas

The book I chose to do my book report on is, “Daniel’s Story”. It is by the author Carol Matas. You will learn how Jewish children, adults, and even babies were treated in World War II. This book was about a Jewish teenager named Daniel, who lived in Frankfurt, Germany. In 1941, Daniel and his family were deported to Lodz Ghetto in Poland because they were Jewish. He met a girl named Rosa there, and they fell in love. His family lived together in an apartment, but the Nazis took all the valuable items. In June of 1944, Daniel and his family were sent from Lodz to Auschwitz/Birkenau Concentration Camp. Daniel and Rosa were separated. Soon after that Daniel and his family were deported to Buchenwald Concentration Camp in Germany. Many Jewish prisoners were killed and tortured by the Nazis. In 1945 the Jewish prisoners were able to take over the camp. The Americans soon came to help set them free. Daniel and some of his surviving family return to Lodz to search for other loved ones. Daniel and Rosa were then reunited.
The theme of Daniel’s Story is that even in terrible times a person can find hope. On example of this is how Daniel’s family stays together in the Concentration Camps. Also, Daniel finds love in the worst of times. He falls in love with Rosa during a time when they are both prisoners. Finally, even though some of his family died, he found hope and happiness with the remaining family members.
I give the book 5 out of 5 stars. I believe Daniel’s Story won awards because it shows the history of the Holocaust through the life of a teenage boy. The book was suspenseful, and you didn’t know who would live or die. Daniel showed courage and strength to keep hope alive during terrible times. If you like historical fiction, this book is one for you to read!

The name of the book is Old Yeller, and the author of Old Yeller is Fred Gipson. This story is about a boy named Travis who took in a stray dog who he named Yeller. Yeller became a member of the family and helped them in many ways. First Yeller was a friend to Travis’ younger brother Arliss. On the farm there weren’t any kids for Arliss to play with. Second Yeller helped Travis find all different types of animals for food. Yeller was very good at finding birds and squirrels. But most importantly Yeller was a protector of the family. Yeller fought off many animals such as wild boars, a bear, wolves, and a bull. These animals were really dangerous, because all of them had rabies. Because of how good a protector Yeller he was, he risked his life for his family.
Sometimes when you love something so much and you see it suffering you have to do what is difficult to stop the suffering. Yeller loved the family that took him in so much that he was to risk his life for his family. Because of this he was bitten by a wolf with rabies. Travis knew that Yeller would get rabies. He also knew that there wasn’t a cure for rabies. Travis didn’t want Yeller to suffer from rabies and go crazy. Travis decided it was best if he putt Yeller down before he suffered any more. It was the hardest thing Travis had to do.
I liked this book, because I connect to how Travis felt about his dog and how sad he was at the end of the book. A couple years back our dog got cancer and the family decided to stop her suffering and put her down. I believe this book won awards, because it told a story about how a dog loved the boy and how much the boy loved the dog. The book, Old Yeller, will make you happy about the relationship between the boy and the dog, but the end will make you sad about the tough decisions that need to be made when you love something and it is suffering.

Number The Stars
By: Lois Lowry
“Where is my family and where am I, said Annemarie?”
This book is about a family and friends trying to hide from Hitler and the Nazi while trying to get to the Netherlands. Sadly everyone gets captured or killed. As the Johannes’s family escapes from the city they all end up dead by sickness besides her father and her best friend Ellen ,but not all of the Johannes’s family gets captured some get run over and killed or some disappear and never heard of again. Like Annemarie was the last to get caught, but ended up living with strangers for a couple of days and then the Nazis find her.

This book is mainly about how she struggled in her life trying to live in fear of the enemy. If you believe in something you can make a difference in your life. Like how Ellen her friend struggled through but believed in her in staying strong and lived. So don’t stop believing and you will Shirley win at the end. Also her friend Peter leaves Berlin, Germany to gets help but did not find help and almost died. The key to that was on how he had hope for him and his family to survive the horrible times. So it was like a rollercoaster there were up times and deep down times. That was how the supporting evidence helped the message the author was trying to tell us.

I loved this book and I think it won an award because it tells us about history and states the bravery they all had with this hard challenge they went through. It told us a bit about history involving world war two and the Nazi. Also it showed how brave they were through this time and it takes a lot of courage to go through this phase that the world was going through at that time. The book contained a lot of action to state the emotion and problem they were going through at that time. The main character had a lot of strength like this was when you just didn’t know what to do so she stayed strong and believed that they can live through this and still not show fear. Yes it does end in a surprising way because you would think a happy ending but only two people live at the end and the main character is not one of them. I think that everyone can learn from this cause they can relate to this and know how it felt to read the book and understand what is going on, but it makes you think what if I went through this.

The book I read is an award winner called “Closed for the Season”, by Mary Downing Hahn. This book is about a 13 year old boy named Logan, who had just moved to Richmond, Virginia. Before he even enters his new home, he learns from the boy next door that it is known as the "murder house."The previous owner Mrs. Donaldson had died in the basement of Logan’s new home. His neighbor, Arthur, tells Logan that people think Mrs. Donaldson has a stash of money hidden at an amusement park called the Magic Forest. Unfortunately after Mrs. Donaldson’s death, they shut down the amusement park and is “Closed for the Season”. Together Logan and Arthur overcome many obstacles to find the money and figure out who the killer of Mrs. Donaldson is. There are a few main messages and themes in this story, but I think the most important one is that you should never give up, no matter how many times you get discouraged. I think this way because in the story Arthur and Logan were told by many people that they were never going to find the money or the killer. Also, no one believed anything that they said because they were only 13.Another reason is that both boys never stopped trying. I really liked the book. I thought it was well written. I think this book won an award because it is a page turner. Also, it is filled with suspense and thrill. If you like mystery books you will like this book very much.

Himmlers War written by:Robert Conroy
this book is jam-packed with lots of excitment and action. In this, Hitler dies in 1944 due to a bombing accident. This causes a new leader, Heinrich Himmler, to take over. In this, a man named Jack Morgan fights for America during WW2 in the European theater. During the end, he has to cross the dreaded Rhine River which is heavily fortified but he eventually wins the battle, but not with out the loss of his friend, Jeb Carter. During that same time, the Nazis build an atomic bomb and bomb Moscow, Russia thus killing Russia's leader, Josef Stalin. Then after the Rhine crossing and the atomic bomb explosion, Himmlers assistant, Otto Skornezy, kills Himmler and ending the war.
I think this book is saying that a new leader doesn't mean world peace because even though Hitler died Himmler still ruled with an iron fist. What Himmler did was just further make the conflict worse. In the book it did state that Morgan's friend, Snyder wanted to sign a petition so that the troops can go home. So it ended up that Himmler just made the war even worse. To add to that Himmler wanted his top scientists to make an atomic bomb so they can destroy Moscow. Plus there was an uprising in France because some French peaple didn't like the government.
I think this book was great and highly detailed. It had more than one person to narrorate the story to add to that. Plus the different people were on different sides. This book had lots of action in it and it even made dialoge look amazing. The ending though ended in a different way then I expected. It turn out that Himmlers assistant killed him and not the Allies. So all in all it was an awesome book.

My book for report is Mickey and ME.The author is Dan Gutman. This book is about a 13 yr old boy who travels in time ,only by holding a baseball card from that era. By his 9yr. old cousins trickery he end up in 1944 and meets an all girls baseball team and he finds that they love the game as much as he does. The Milwaukee Chicks were a pro womens baseball team who played during world war II when most of the male pro players were called to defend their country against Hitler and Germany, one of the girls show mixed emotions between love of her soldier and her love for baseball.I think this book is very entertaining it tells of father son relations, his love of baseball and meeting people from the past who loved the game as much as he did, and they were girls. I feel he learned from his adventure that its not only about you, but also about all those that care about you.

The book I am reading is written by J.B. Stamper. It was the guard’s first day in the Egyptian rooms. He had been assigned to the Viking rooms before this. He always had fun by the Vikings. Let’s see how he does now. The book is about a guard that works at a museum, he is on the night shift.
I think that the message that the author is trying to tell us is to be careful on what you do. I think this because he stuck a peace of gum on the back of an Egyptians head in front of his mom; the mom got mad and killed the guard. Another reason is that the guard was looking at some words on the wall, and somebody came behind him and scared him. The final reason is that the guard died because he didn’t make sure that it was o.k. to do what he did.
I think that the book started in an interesting way because when you start reading it talks about this guard that is reading these words on a wall. The main character doesn’t show any real strength, because he is controlled by a mummy think that someone else would want to read this book because it was interesting.

I did my book report on the book "Shark Attacks of 1912" by Lauren Tarshis. It's about this12 year old guy named Chet and he goes to Elm Hills, New Jersey for the summer to live with his uncle because his parents had a job in California. After a couple of days he meets friends named Dewey, Sid, and Monty. A couple of days later Chet gets a job at his Uncle Jerry's local diner, he gets 50 cents a day! So one day Dewy,Sid, and Monty all came running toward Chet and told him what they heard on the news, a shark attack on the Matawan Creek. The Matawan Creek is where Chet and his friends love to go, but Uncle Jerry didn't think the news was true, but Uncle Jerry was starting to think that it was real because Captin Wilson was talking about when he got bit by a shark in the Matawan creek. He told the kids how he was big and had killer eyes, but the kids just laughed and made jokes because they didn't think it was real, exept Chet. One day the kids went to Matawan Creek and they were swimming and saw a huge fin in the water. They were scared only Chet got out of the water Sid and Dewy, they both disappeared from the water completly. Then Dewy comes out of the water and says "You idiot you kept me under too long." "That wasn't the plan!" Chet was confused what plan? Then Sid starts laughing and says "We got you!" Chet was so embarrassed. Then one day Chet wanted revenge and he played a joke on them by attaching a fake fin to a fish and put fake blood in the water and he got them they were all screaming and yelling for help then Chet came up and said "Ha i got u guys back!" All the boys started laughing. Then it was dark and the boys decided to take a night swim, as they were swimming Sid started yelling "THERE'S A SHARK IN THE WATER RUNN!" Nobody belivid him but then the shark popped out of the water and everyone started running everyone made it out exept Chet. All you could see was blood , when Chet came up from the water he was screaming in pain and was yelling "Dewy, Sid, Monty, but nobody was there he thought everyone left him but then just 1 minute later they came back with Uncle Jerry and Captin Wilson and as soon as they came he could feel the razor sharp teeth going deeper into his skin. Then Chet passed out and couldn't remember anything. All the sudden he was throwing up and he was in the hospital he had a deep cut in his leg , but he didn't die. He was in deep pain but one thing that took his mind off the pain was thinking of if his parents were going to come see him. The door opened, it was Uncle Jerry and Dewy, Sid , and Monty, but no mom and dad . Chet was happy to see them but he asked Uncle Jerry if his parents were comming. Uncle Jerry said he didn't know and he left them a voice message. Then 2 hours later the door opened it was mom and dad chet got soo happy he couldn't stop smiling he hugged them and kissed them to death, and they even said that he can move to California with them. He was kind of sad cuz he wanted to bring Dewy, Sid, and Monty, but mom said they can come out and visit anytime so i was happy. Then we got off the airplane and i moved in and started school the next day, i couldn't wait to tell everybody i survived the shark attacks of 1912.

The Fighting Ground
By
Matt M.

My book report The Fighting Ground was written by Avi. This book is about a 13 year old boy named Jonathon who enlisted in the Continental Army by mistake. When Jonathan went to the forest he found soldiers and they thought he was a new troop. The soldiers walked and found several Hessians, who were German solders working for Britain, and started a battle. Jonathan’s fellow soldiers were all killed except for him along with the 3 Hessians. The Hessians then turned on him and captured him. The Hessians then turned on him and captured him. He eventually escaped captivity.

The theme of the book is that he has to make a decision whether or not to save the people who captured him or let them die. As well as facing his own death multiple times. When he went into battle he faced death, when he was captured he faced death, and when he went back to the Hessians he faced death. The last time he faced death he was taking the Army to the Hessians camp to kill them.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys reading stories about the Revolutionary War. This book has lots of action and suspense. When the battle happened it described how it looked in detail. And if that wasn’t surprising enough, we find out that all this action, suspense, and drama happened in one day.

For my February Book Report I did the "Orphan Train Rider". It is written by Andrea Warren. This was a very good story. It kept my interest the whole time. It is about three boys who were sent to an orphanage by their father. Their mother had just died, and their father could not take care of three kids. When you were sent to an orphanage from 1854-1930 you would ride the "orphan trains". The "orphan trains" are trains that took orphans to New York. The orphans got dressed up nicely and people would come look at them. If they liked what they saw they would take them home. Someone who helped the orphans find homes would visit twice a year to check on them.
The message the author is trying to get across to the reader is that even if you are not blood related you can still be part of a family and there is someone who will always love and be there for you.
Except for one sad part, I was very interested to find out how the story ended. It kept my attention throughout. I would rate this book a 5 out of 5 because it was a moving story that truly made you appreciate family. The book is good if you like a story that keeps family together even though they live apart. The character shows courage to find his siblings. This book is truly a good story, if you decide to read it and like it you are in luck…… it is a series!!

For my February book report I did "A Boy at War". It is by a man named Harry Mazer. The book is about a kid named Adam losing his father at Pearl Harbor. They thought they were making another navy movie with sound effects as the bombs fell, they didn't know it was legit real. Japanese fighter planes attack his father's ship the "Arizona" when he was on a boat with his two friends Davi (born in America; father was born in Japan)and Martin Kahahawai( no info. on him) when a Jap Fighter wasted a full round an the boat. Adam had a gunshot wound on his back, Martin had a thick stick through his heart;every time he took a breath the stick moved,Davi wasn't hurt so bad, just some blood from his head. People thought Adam was a part of the Navy when a man ordered him to take a boat out to the ships sinking. Most of the men had oil on them, some wouldn't leave without the others. When they came back to the shore they formed a military group with the not-so-bad people. Adam got a weapon called a .30caliber bolt action springfield.

The five people you meet in heaven
The book I read was called “The five people you meet in heaven”, it was by the author name Mitch Albom. The book is about a man named Eddie. Eddie is a grizzled war veteran who feels trapped in the toil of his father before him, fixing rides at a seaside amusement park. As the park has changed over years, so has Eddie, from optimistic youth to embittered old age. His days are a dull routine of work, loneliness, and regret. Then on Eddies 83rd birthday, Eddie dies in a tragic accident, trying to save a little girl from a falling cart. With his final breath, he feels two small hands on him-and then nothing. He awakens in the afterlife, where he learns that heaven isn’t a lush garden of Eden, but a place where your earthly life is explained to you by five people who were in it. These people may have not been loved ones or distant strangers. Yet each of them changed your path forever. One by one, Eddies five people illuminate the unseen connections of his earthly life. As the story builds to its stunning conclusion, Eddie desperately seeks redemption in the still-unknown last act if his life: Was it a heroic success or a devastating failure? Like in every book the author is always trying to point out a message of a lesson in his or her book. In the book “The five people you meet in heaven” the message or lesson the author is trying to say is that no matter how hard or strange your life gets it always makes sense and there’s a reason for everything that happens in your life. My personal opinion about this book is that it is very interesting, has lots of great details and explains everything in the book. I would absolutely recommend this book to other people. It is a great book and readers would become very interested in it. It would be a book that you would want to keep reading and find out what happens next until the book is finished.

My book that I chose was a 39 clues book. The 39 clues is a series of books and I chose the 3rd one. The author is Peter Lerangis and the 2 main characters are Amy and Dan Cahill. The name of the book is the sword thief. The book is about Amy and Dan trying to find all 39 clues and if they are the first to find them, than it will lead them to one of the most powerful sources in the world.
I think the theme of this book is to trust people once in a while because Amy and Dan never trust anyone because they are afraid that the person that they trust is going to betray them.
The book did not win any awards but has sold millions and millions of copies. I would rate this book 8 out of 10 stars because the author is very good at telling what the scenes look like and I can get a good picture in my head of what they look like. I would recommend people to read this book but they will have to start with the first and 2nd book or else it will be very confusing.

For my February book report I did "A Boy at War". It is by a man named Harry Mazer. This book is about a kid named Adam Pelko losing his father at Pearl Habor. Adam thought they were making another navy movie with sound effects as the bombs fell, they didn't know that it was legit real. Japanese fighter planes attacked his father's ship the "Arizona" when he was on a boat with his two friends Davi (born in America;Father was born in Japan) and Martin Kahahawai( no info. on him) when a Jap Fighter plane wasted a full round of bullets on the boat. Adam had a gunshot wound on his back, Martin had a thick piece of wood from the boat in his chest;every time he took a breath the stick moved, Davi wasn't hurt so bad just some blood from his head. Adam carried them to shore from the water. People thought Adam was part of the navy when a man ordered him to take the boat out to the ships sinking. Most of the men had oil on them, some wouldn't leave without the others. When they came back to the shore they formed a military group with some of the remaining survivers like:chefs;navy men;gunners;and so on. All of them were handed out guns, Adam got a .30 caliber bolt actoin Springfield. They started to move around what's left of Pearl Harbor. They helped get the wounded to a hospital. Adam was on top of the truck shooting down Japanese Fighters. Of course, he didn't hit any. When he got home His house was full of people around the block. He still belived that his dad was somewere in the Arizona even though it was like Two days ago. Finally they got the note from the so called "Secretary of War" that said his dad was MIA(Missing In Action). They fianlly gave in and went past Diamond Head and threw floweres to wherethe Arizona was, were his father's ship had sunk, were his father died.

The author is Mary downing Hahn. The books name is The Dead Man In Indian Creek. A camping trip turns into a hunt for a murderer. The book is about two kids, Parker and Matthew go camping and they find a dead guy in a creek when walking there dog and they try to find the killer. Two important events that happened was the killer was arrested, and they found that the killer was also a drug dealer.

The theme of the story is two kids trying to find a killer. The author is trying to say that a killer is never a good person to hang out with. My supporting evidence that the guy is a killer because the killer is a drug dealer, the killer is mean to Peter and Matthew, and he hides the drugs in dolls.

My opinion of this book is that it should be an award winner because it was about two young kids trying to find a killer. The book should be an award winner because it was a suspenseful book, it was suspenseful because the kids were being chased by the killer which would be very scary if I was this character. This book contains a lot of suspense. The main character shows strength because he stands up to the killer and drug dealer. The book ends in a surprising way because the killer was arrested. I would recommend you to read this book because it was an action packed book about two young kids trying to find a killer.

I read the book Jackie and Me by Dan Gutman. This book is about how Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in the Major Leagues.

Jackie Robinson was a baseball player in 1947. Because of segregation, he was only allowed to play on a team with other African-Americans. He fought the right to play in the Major League and won. Jackie Robinson showed that if there is something important to you, it's worth fighting for.

I thought this book was excellent because it taught me about Jackie Robinson and about standing up for yourself. It showed me that if you are persistent you can overcome anything. I would recommend this book to people who like baseball. It teaches you about how Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier and how good a ball player he was.

A Boy at War

By Harry Mazer

The book I read was called A Boy at War by Harry Mazer. It is about a boy who lives in Hawaii that is fishing with his friends but all of a sudden he sees Japanese planes flying over and bombing Pearl Harbor. Then, Adam (the main character) sees ships sinking and goes to a military academy and becomes part of the Navy. He soon finds out his father was fighting in that war and was in one of the boats that sank.

The theme of this book was to never be confident on a note to your parents. Adam did that and said he would be back soon from his fishing trip. It was days later that he came home in a Navy suit and a gun all because of the war. His mother said she was worried sick about her son possibly dying in the war.

I would give this book a 9 out of 10 because of all of the detail about the war. The book most likely won an award because of its turnaround. In the beginning it was all about Adam going to school and making friends to going fishing and fighting a war. The main character was amazingly brave because he was fighting a battle against a huge enemy and Adam was only 16. I think this book would be great for someone to read that is into war and battling.

The book that I read for my book report is Flames of the Tiger by John Wilson. This book is about a boy, Deiter, and his sister, Greta. They live in Berlin, their country got bombed when Hitler was in control of Germany. They meet an injured soldier named Joe, and Dieter trys to keep him alive by telling him his life story. He is afraid that if Joe falls asleep, he will die. Some important events that happened in the story are when Dieter joins the Nazi army and also when his brother, Reinhard, gets promoted in the Nazi army.
The theme of my book was to never give up. His whole family trys to survive when Russia takes over Berlin. His mother and Father both get killed by a Russian tank shell. And his brother gets shot in the thigh and bleeds to death. So, him and his sister Greta headed south and ran into his Uncle Walter, and they also run into Marcus, a Jewish person, that had to hide, other wise he would have been killed by Nazis. There was not enough space for them there so, they, as they had promised their parents bofore their death, headed to Canada with Joe to start a new life, a peaceful life.
I personally loved this book, I would recommend this book to anyone in the whole world! I think that this book won its awards because it had A LOT of action in the story line. I really think that this book deserves a five star rating. That's how much I recommend this book to everyone. The main character showed a lot of courage and strength. READ THIS BOOK!

My Historical fiction book report is
Daughter of the Nile by Kristiana Gregory it takes
place in Egypt. My book is about Cleopatra when she was 12.
She had two sisters (one was evil and the other was her friend).
Even when she was 12 Cleopatra had to worry about being poisoned
by her sister. One day she snuck on a boat with her father and went to Rome. Cleopatra spoke many languages and heard her father being mocked many times, It made Cleopatra hate Rome. Before they came back they found out that her evil sister had stolen the thrown, and been murdered while they were gone. When they
returned her other sister was on the thrown, and when she saw her father she fell at his feet. Cleopatra later found out that her Father had her sister be-headed for daring to sit on the thrown.
Later in her life Cleopatra became Pharaoh. Cleopatra committed
suicide by putting her hand in a basket with a deadly snake.
I really liked this book, it was interesting, and had some funny parts. The story
was written from Cleopatra's point of view, like you were reading her diary. The Theme of this book was that Cleopatra always had to be responsible, she had to grow up quickly, and she always had to be aware of what was going on around her.

The book I chose was Skylark by Patricia MacLachlan. This is an amazing story with wisdom, humor, and concern. It’s about a family that lives on a prairie who are trying to keep their well from going dry. The father gets married, all of their friends’ wells go dry, most of the family moves to Maine, and it finally rains after it hadn’t for months.

This book teaches you “Trust the ones you love.” What I mean is you should trust the idea, thought, or feeling of the ones you care for. In the story, the mom, daughter, and son don’t trust their father that it is going to rain, but it did after a while. They should’ve trusted their father. “Trust the ones you love.”

I really liked this book. I give Skylark four out of five stars! I think that it should’ve won an award for its outstanding detail and characters. There was so much detail that I could see everything happening as I read. I also loved the characters and how they acted as if they were real people, even though they weren’t. I convince anyone to read this book because it’s all surprising. It’s all suspense and worry. But, at the end, it turns out in a good way. You should read the book Skylark.

I read the book, titles The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. The Hunger Games is a story about a bloody gladiator type of game between teenagers from the poor districts of Panem. All of the battles are live on TV as entertainment for the people of the capitol and as a reminder of the governments power. Katniss and Peeta are chosen to fight to their death. They have a romance and at the end cannot kill each other.
When you love someone you are willing to sacrifice yourself for them. When Peeta and Katniss are told they have to kill one another, they choose to eat poisonous berries together. This changes the games rules and they both are declared winners.
The book got an award because I thought it was amazing and very interesting. The book has lots of fighting and action with bows and arrows. Katniss is very brave when out numbered and ambushed during the battle. The ending leads me to believe that Katniss and Peeta will always be good friends.

Nightmare Hall
by: Diane Hoh
This book is about two people named Demi and Kevin from collage making a dating game. Demi really wanted to post an ad on the dating game wall but her friend Shannon wouldn't let her. But she did anyway. She thought it was going to be a great idea but as she got calls from people to date her she got mad and who ever went on a date with her died because she killed them.

The message that the author is telling people is that never join a dating service or somethimg like that.If you do you would have a big chance of being killed or hurt really bad by people. In the book someone was found dead in a hallway and got a nickname of "Nightmare Hall."

My opinion of this book is that its a good book and i think a lot of people would like it.This book won a reward because it is like a mystery book and a lot of people like mysteries. People should read this book because i think they would like it for all of its action and mystery.

My Book report is on one of the,” Dear America Books” and it’s called,” The Diary of Remember Patience Whipple” (Mayflower, 1620). The Author is Kathryn Lasky. The Story takes place on the Mayflower in the year 1620. The voice behind the story is,” Patience Whipple” who likes to be called Mem. Her parents named her that, because her mother’s sister had recently passed on and to remember her, they named her,” Patience”. The day they start sailing in October 1, 1620. The day they ended sailing is September 9, 1620.
It’s not easy to sail across the ocean. Mem, her family, and others have to sail across the Atlantic Ocean. They had to go through all that trouble.
I think the book won an award, because the book gave great detail. The book also gave great Facts about the Mayflower at the end. The book ended with Mem telling me that it was only the beginning.

The book I read is 2099 betrayal by: John Peel. This story is about the end of the world and the conflicts they face due to the catastrophes of the surroundings around them. This is mostly about the doomsday virus and only the lead character, Tristan is the only one who can stop it. But there’s a problem his enemy, Devon is trying to stop him and let it end the world. Some of the important events is that he is very strong and succeeds in his plan to stop the doomsday virus.
I believe that the books theme is that never give up and do what’s best for you and the others around you. Three supporting evidence is that he tries to help everyone and risks himself for the people around him and puts himself in danger. He also fights against his enemy and kind to help all the people in danger of this virus. Tristan also had to go through all these traps and still went through his plan and that shows that he never gives up and help the people around you.
My opinion of this book 2099 is that it was very good and there setting and all these descriptions was very well done and I give it a 4/5. It gives you a lot of action between the two characters and how they fight to the end. By how strong the character is and tries his absolute hardest to win to save his friends. I think you should read this book and you should because it gives you everything to the description to the conflict.

The book I read for my February book report is “Dare To Dream: 25 Extraordinary Lives” By: Sandra McLeod Humphrey. If you are looking for someone to idolize, this book is a collection of biographies from historical citizens to modern day heroes. You can read about Abraham Lincoln and Helen Keller to Michael Jordan and Sammy Sosa. Sandra McLeod Humphrey tells the reader about ordinary people whose courage helped them to achieve great things.
Sandra explains what each of the people went through in their lives to make them a hero. My favorite biography was about Ben Carson. When Ben was a young boy he did poorly in school and had trouble controlling his temper. His temper was so bad that he almost stabbed his friend with a knife in the stomach for wanting to change the radio station. When he got home he locked himself in the bathroom and sat in there for three and a half hours thinking that if he kept up with his temper he would go to jail and his dream of being a doctor would be over. While he sat in the bathroom that day he read the book of Proverbs. When he came out his temper was gone. He started working hard at school and graduated from Yale then Michigan Medical School. He became the youngest chief of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. During his time there he saved and separated conjoined twins, the surgery took over 22 hours!
The author made the lives of these 25 people so interesting to read about that I felt like I had actually met them in real life! Sandra McLeod Humphrey’s true stories about these heroes made me feel like I can accomplish anything that I put my mind to. “Dare To Dream: 25 Extraordinary Lives” is a great book because it has 25 biographies with 25 different inspiring characters and 25 different interesting stories. I would suggest this book to anyone who would like to learn about the history of people who didn’t give up and fought hard to achieve their dreams.

The book I read was called On the Run Hunting the Hunter by Gordon Korman. This book was about two kids, Aiden and Meg Falconer, whose parents were sent to prison for a crime they didn’t commit. The Parents were framed by Frank Lindenauer, a man they considered a close friend. Aiden and Meg are trying to prove their parents innocence by finding this man and tricking him into confessing what he did. The problem is Frank is trying to find them so he can kill them.
The message the author is tying to send the reader is to never give up on something you believe in. Aiden and Meg went through many tough times and had a lot of adventures along the way, but they never gave up on proving their parents innocence. In the end their parents were freed.
I really liked this book. There was a lot of action and you just wanted to keep reading to find out what was going to happened next. I would definitely recommend this book. It is one of a series, and I would like to read the others.

Number the stars
By: Lois Lowry

Do you think you are brave enough to risk your life for a friend? Well, in my story “Number the Stars,” by Lois Lowry, the main character is brave enough and shows it when she tries to help her friend hide from Nazi soldiers during World War II. The story takes place in Denmark, when it was occupied by Germany.

The message of the story is a strong one. It tells of the courage and kindness a ten year old girl shows toward her Jewish friend. In one exciting part of the story, her bravery is shown when she has to run through the streets of Denmark to deliver a packet that is needed to save her friend. While she is running she has to make sure that she is not caught by German soldiers. Another time, Nazi soldiers are checking houses to see if families are hiding any Jewish people and the main character shows great courage. Mainly I found this story to be about the comfort a friend gives to her friend.

I liked this book because it had a lot of events that had rising action and I did not know how things would turn out. I like this kind of book because it keeps me interested. I think this book won the John Newbery Award because it helps kids understand what it was like living in a country occupied by Nazi soldiers and the author makes the reader feel like they are in the book. For instance, when AnneMarie was running through the streets, I felt like I was there and I was as scared as she was. I think you should read this book so you can feel like I did and understand life for a kid during war.

Roller Skates
By: Ruth Sawyer
Lucinda's year in New York City began when her family went to Europe and left her-not, thank heaven, with Aunt Emily and her four docile, ladylike daughters, but with Miss Peters, who understood that a girl of ten wanted to roller skate to school, and stop and chat with Patrolman M'Gonegal, and make friends with Mr. Gilligan, the cabby, and even play with Tony, whose father kept a fruit stand down the street. Roller Skates is a delightful story of old New York, about a tomboy who could not help being a lady at the same time, who was both quick-tempered and sympathetic, both stubborn and astute

The name of this book is "Chasing Vermeer" , by Blue Balliet, Illustrated by Brett Helquist. A mysterious letter is delivered to three unknown people, two women and one man. The letter tells them they are of great needs to the sender, but begs them not to go to the police. Then we jump to Petra Andalee and Calder Pillay who are students in Ms. Hussey's sixth grade class. At first they see nothing in each other and are not friends but they soon realize they have more in common then their age, they both really like their teacher Ms. Hussey. They both love museums, art and blue M & M's. When a thief steals a pricey Johanna Vermeer painting in route to Chicago, Petra and Calder team up to solve the mystery and recover the painting.

Problem solving and deception are themes in this book, both the thief and the adults use ways to hide the truth about the paintings while the children enjoy a series of problems to solve and put together the clues. Calder and Petra have a special friendship and a respect for art. Making everyone in the book to look more closely at art. Ms. Hussey challenges her class to a question " What is art".

If you are looking for a Mystery to read, this is your book. One very interesting thing about this book that I really like is that it has hidden codes in it. There are pentomonies and frogs hidden in the pictures throughout the book. To decode the code, you have to count the number of frogs in every other picture, as well as find the hidden pentomonies. Pentomonies are mathematical tools consisting of 12 pieces. Each piece is made up of five squares the share at least one side, they are also named after letters in the alphabet. The book starts off a little slow but does get very interesting. I felt as if it was myself in the story solving the mystery, finding the painting. It is a great book and there is more to it than just reading.

The book I read was "The Best School Year EVER" by Barbara Robinson. The book is about how these six kids go to school and they're all in different grades but they ruin everything and they get kicked out of almost every store and restaurant in town.Like in school they once put frogs in the water fountain and the principle didnt have her glasses on so she drank the frogs and it ruined the principles whole day. Then they tried to wash their cat at the LaundryMat, and they left their cat in the washer to go get money. Some how the cat got out and destroyed the whole place so the six kids got kicked out of the LaundryMat and almost every store and restaurant in the whole town for something bad like that. The theme of the story is no matter how hard they try to solve something, something else always happens. The message the author is trying to tell is if you try to fix something it might not always work out. Like when the six kids skipped school something still happened. For example the kindergarteners didn't want to go on the field trip because one of the six kids wouldn't go on the bus at all so the kindergartners thought they did something bad to the bus. Another example is when the six kids were gone from school they got the chicken pox. They returned to school the next day with chicken pox still and gave it to almost everyone in the school. Last, sometimes not all bad stuff happens with this theme, like when the six kids were gone the school won the Fire Department Speed and Safety Award. I think this book won an award because it gives alot of details and gives interesting facts. The book starts in an interesting way of what kind of bad stuff the six kids do. They pull pranks on people and smoke cigars. I think even though what they did was wrong it was still interesting to read about it. The book does not contain alot of action or suspense. The main characters show strength by being kind at the end. The book ends in an exciting way because I would think that it would end with something bad that happens but actually it ends with a good ending. This book is really funny and interesting so someday you should read "The Best School Year EVER."

Mickey and me By, Dan Gutman, did you ever think of traveling back in time. Did you ever want to go back in time and watch one of your favorite baseball players in their time? This book is about a 13 year old boy who could do so, only by holding the card from any time he would magically go to that era. The boy goes back to 1944 whith the trickery of his 9 year old cousin who follows the pro womens baseball team for a day, becomes the mascot, and finds out how dedicated the girls from the team were to a game . I think this book is very entertaining. It tells of a father son relations, and his love for baseball. Meeting people from the past who loved the game as much as he did. The book ends happily but only some what, he returns home safely. He had lots of life lessons. His father was in an auto accident and was paralyzed. He learned that its not only about you but its also about the ones that care about you.
All the baseball players were called to war when hitler took over. The girls loved their country, and the game of baseball very much Mickey Maguire says'I dont know if i want my husband to come home he said he wanted me to quit playin ball but i lve baseball.

My February book report is on,” Island of Blue Dolphins”, by Scott O'Dell. Have you ever been stuck all alone in the Pacific stranded on an Island with no one around? Well, 24 year old Karana, a young Indian girl, has and I am here to tell you all about her experience. Karana has a 12 year old brother named Ramo, and a 26 year old sister named Ulape. Her dad is Chief Chowig who is brave and powerful and rules over everything. And there they all live together in a little village called Ghalas-at. One morning, Russian men came from the the north and wished to stay and hunt for otter at their Island, Chief Chowig made a deal with them and let them stay down at Coral Cave. Then, one of the look out men saw a boat full of good white men sent from their old chief that will take them somewhere where no one knows of. As they were loading everyone and started to leave the Island, Karana noticed that Ramo wasn't on the ship. Then, she saw him left on the Island, she jumped out of the ship and swam back to the Island, since the captain refused to turn around and promised that another boat will come and rescue him another day, and she then stayed with him on the Island.
One day, Ramo went on his own to bring back one of the canoes down at Coral Cave, when suddenly wild dogs attacked him, and he died. Karana found him soon after the accident. Then realized that the ship will never return, and she would be stuck there all alone for the rest of her life. And that this was her home from now on.
The theme of this book is to be responsible. Karana had to be responsible in many different ways, she had to cook, make weapons, and hunt for food. And it's not always easy to be responsible.
My opinion for this book is definitely a must read!!! Anyone who reads this book will for sure want to read it over and over again!!! I think this book won it's award because of how adventurous it is and how it really puts you on the verge!!! And I love how the main character shows courage and strength. And the ending was VERY shocking!!! I love this book!!!

I chose Halo: The Cole Protocol by Tobias S. Buckell. Have you seen outer space? Have you heard of Spartans and the Covenant? Well this book takes place in outer space in a region called the Rubble. It's about a commander named Jacob Keyes and him coming from the navy to help the UNSC fight the alien menace called the Covenant. This book shows you both sides of the UNSC and the Covenant. But the Covenant is also the other alien species called Kig-Yar who is selling covenant weapons to the UNSC and they are modifying them for they're use. But the Kig-Yar are trying to get the UNSC's battle plans and give it to the covenant. So the covenant can destroy the human race. I really enjoyed this book and many people would its full of action and suspence.

The book I read was "Through my Eyes" by Tim Tebow.
This book is a New York Times best seller.
I choose this book because I admire Tim Tebow because he has always been determined and strong willed like myself. By reading this book I learned he inherited his Mothers strength and determination right from the start, you see Tim Tebow wasn't even supposed to live through child birth. He absorbed a piece of stomach tissue and the Doctors told his Mom that she had two options, risk dying or abort the great tebow. Tim Tebows Mother refused to abort her baby.Tim was a fighter just like his Mom and not only survived but thrived.
Tim Tebow went to college at The University of Miami and was the starting quarterback, where he lead his team to Victory at the National Championship. He won the Heisman in 2007.
He now plays for the Denver Broncos.
Tim is the son of Christian missionaries and visits his home in the Philippenes all the time to help wherever he is needed. He donates his time and money to charities and is always willing to help others.

Tim Tebow has stood his ground when ridiculed about his faith and good deeds. He doesn't back down from anyone or anything.
He has a strong Christian faith, amazing family values, and an inhuman drive to suceed. He stands proud of who he is and who he has become.

My book the Magic Tree House;Carnival at Candlelight. The author is Mary Pope Osborne. It is about Jack and Annie who go on a adventure to find the king of the sea and they have a book of magic rhymes.

My theme of my store is change the world before it`s too late. Jack and Annie go back in time.

I think the book was great. It`s an award winning book because it was suspenseful.

The book I read was called "THE CITY OF EMBER" written by Jeanne Duprau. Did you ever go into a dark, damp tunnel under the city going on a river not knowing where it leads to?(I would never have done that!!) Well in this story two kids named Doon and Lina about our age find the tunnel that leads out of the city. When they find the tunnel they don't know what is a boat and a paddle and they don't know how to use it!!

Well I think the message is to never ever give up. Instead of doing that and getting caught by the guards (Lina) she ran as fast as she can and made in time before Doon left. Another time instead of leaving the tunnel they crossed the river and got to safety with on one hurt. Also, instead of Doon not asking and taking the job he hated most he got Lina to trade jobs with him and now he has the job he wanted the whole time.

To me I love this book very much. I say one out of ten I've give it an eight. This book was a little boring at first but, as I started reading more of it I got more excited and more I wanted to read it!! I'm sure you will like it too. "THE CITY OF EMBER" is what I read this month.

The book I read was "THE BOOK WITHOUT WORDS" By Avi. In the book I read it is about a older man named Master Thorston who is dieing. He also has a bird named Odo who thought that he said that he made gold. The Master said he was becoming very "OLD".

Odo, went out looking for food, but he didn't. A girl that odo never knew about lived there and said that, that was her job that the Master had gave her. The next morning the girl (sybil) went to the store with only 98 cents. ( Back then in the story a little boy cost a dollar). she bought a lot of spidery things.

I think that this book was really good . I think this book should be read over and over. This is the book I read for Febuary book report.

Imagine if you were Anne Hamilton. My book report is on the book "Cabin Faced West" By: Jean Fritz. Anne has no friends at Hamilton Hill. The only kids around the west are boys and babies. She only dreamed that she could live back in Gettysburg with her cousin Margaret. Her mother said that when a special occasion arose that the family will take time off of there busy lives and have a nice party. But special occasions never seemed to happened. Until one evening a stranger came by. And that stranger seemed to brighten up Anne's day. She agreed that there had never been a more better party then the one on Hamilton Hill. She wanted to be there to help build the wonderful West.

First, The name of the book I read was Jim and Me. Jim and Me was written by Dan Gutman. Have ever traveled back in time ? Well shockwave and Bobby have. My book is about those to boys going back and time and see Bobby’s great-grandfather Jim Thorpe. One important event in my story is when Bobby really meats his great-grandfather and finds out he sucks at baseball.
Next, the theme of my story is always be nice or your friend will leave you in 1913. It’s not easy to be nice to someone or you will end up lonely and have no friends. In the book there are some examples like Bobby was beating up shockwave, Bobby Calling Shockwave mean names, and Bobby not listing to Shockwave.
Finally, I think Jim and me was a good book because it kept me think what will happen next and I learn a phew things about Jim and his career. The book starts of by Shockwave being in a middle of a war. My book had a lot of action and it had Bobby and Shockwave almost getting killed. Shockwave shows a lot of courage to take Bobby back in time to meet his Great Grandpa because Bobby and him aren’t so nice to each other. The book ends up in a surprising way by Bobby and Shockwave becoming good friends.
To conclude,
You should read this book because it is exciting and shocking in many different ways.
